Exactly how you described it - common fault then.
Just out of curiosity did you fix it and what are you going to replace it with?
No; I had planned to touch up the paint, but didn't get round to it. Dealers valued it for trade in higher than WBAC and I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of trying to sell it privately, so just let them have it. We picked up a 2016 C200 Petrol in AMG Line trim; very similar to my old work car, but petrol and lower mileage. This one will get washed a lot more than my work one ever did too. smile

Sorry been out rehearsing with the band this evening (at least I knew everything would fit in the boot as it's the same as my old work car. smile ).

At the dealers:

On the drive when we got home:

It's got the optional matt black 'wood' trim on the dash rather than the shiny black gloss:

My wife was a bit sad to see the SLK go, but at least we can take the Grandkids out in this one, or even our son if he wants to come with us. She was happier when the road tax was less and the insurance didn't go up a penny when we changed it over. I will miss having roof down drives though. I suspect that one day I might buy an older convertible when my garage is available for use again ( my RS2000 restoration about to start in earnest).

IIRC there are some plastic bits for sale on the SLK forum to cover up this issue...

Nice colour Woodytype; we nearly bought one in a similar colour, given the microblistering on Fire Opal I wish we had. Cream interior too?
