Hi All,
Wife would like a white Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213) SALOON
Looking around a 2018 - 2019
Price no more than say £25,000
Probably a E220 or E250

The AMG Line, is there a "Premium" or is the AMG the premium?
Is the Night edition the top of the normal spec, without going to the big engined stuff ?

Used to have a 2019 E220 albeit in estate guise. The photographs look like the AMG line and the SE has no Lower slats.

Model range in saloon formats are the SE, AMG line edition, AMG line night edition and the AMG’s which have additional design touches.

AMG line edition adds AMG styling
Night edition adds 20” alloys, Black surrounds around the window

Package wise, see image

I just purchased an amg line premium plus. I think the extras over the standard amg line are panoramic sunroof, burmeister sound system, multi led headlights, easy opening and memory seats.

I have a 2017 220d premium plus with more options and the 20" wheels from the night edition

It's a decent car but the build quality isn't great on the interior but nice place to be all the same.

The wheels will crack be prepared for that

I'm amazed how much the prices have gone up as mine has less miles more kit and is an estate it was 10k less than that last one!

Some great replies.
Thanks.

One more question.
Is Distronic plus, the same as adaptive cruise control,
Does Distronic Plus, bring the Mercedes to a stop, or just slow it down ?

Thanks

I've got the older Distronic on my 212 and it will bring the car to a complete halt. It's a bit unnerving from speed but it works.

Pay attention to the infotainment screen if you are looking at anything 18 plate or less; on some of them instead of the nice 12 inch wide screen you got a tiny little 7 inch thing with an enormous gloss black bezel - it looks seriously pants.

I'd hang on and go for the highest spec you can with ambient lighting, correct infotainment screen etc. I got given a base SE as a loaner once and it was incredible how basic it seemed. Get one in a nice colour and the pano roof is really tricky.

This is what I am on about with the screens...

My 12" (ooerr)

The "base" screen - looks awful. Do check for this....

Ambient lighting - you can have this in any colour, different colour top and bottom, or a changing colour palette ...
I had mine as a changing 70s disco colour scheme when I was out driving with my cat...

Mine was an estate in Designo "Hyacinth Red" with the pano roof, got this back in the days of the cheap leases - we won't be seeing the like of those again I don't think.

Also be aware most don't have leather. Infact leather is a very rare option and leather in anything other than black is almost non existent

Only real options mine doesn't have is active seats, air balance and hud

The older cars can have better specs as they got rid of most options in 2017 and just had the packs

That's good to know.
So Distronic, and Distronic Plus, both can bring the car to a stop ?

WOW, didn't know that about the screen
Thanks for the heads up !

We have decided that it should be
White,
pan roof that opens,
Virtual cockpit
And the system that keeps a safe distance on cruise control, ie, Distronic
the full screen that you kindly mentioned,
AMG or AMG premium, or night thingy.

Not totally sure if E200, or E220, or E250
I gues they are almost same 2.1L 4 cyl. engine, in various states of tune, and turbos ?

They are all 2litre the 220 is fast enough at 197bhp I did originally want a 400d but they were another 10k on top used.

I wouldn't worry about the year unless you want facelift as nothing changed for the better between 2016 and 2021

I've also had most of mine apart to get rid of rattles

Did they use the same engine throughout? Or the old 2148cc at any point?

The new 1950cc engine with the 9G tronic gearbox is the one to have - not sure if they did the older one with the 213

I'm on my 3rd S213 E-Class AMG Line estate.

White, - lots around
pan roof that opens, - you'll need the car to have the 'Premium' or 'Premium Plus' packages.
Virtual cockpit - was a £495 option, but the car had needed to have the Command nav package. This was £1495 option on the E220 but was standard on E350ds and E400ds
And the system that keeps a safe distance on cruise control, ie, Distronic
the full screen that you kindly mentioned, - as above
AMG or AMG premium, or night thingy. You have 32 main options. 'Premium' or 'Premium Plus'. Night Edition was basically a trim option that blacked out the chrome trim, added rear privacy glass, added black door mirrors and added black trimmed wheels instead of grey.

AAhh,
So night edition is now relegated to the bottom of our list smile
Her does like the shiny chrome
