I've just acquired a 2006 R320cdi which has two issues that I think could be related...
It has no radio reception, and the remote unlock function on the key only works when the key is pointed directly at the IR receive on the driver's door handle. I've read on some MB forums for other models that the radio antenna was used to receive the signal for the remote unlocking from the key, so I suspect that a short circuit (best guess: alarm siren battery leaked and killed the unit) has taken out the fuse causing both of the problems.
BUT I cannot find any clear guides on replacing the alarm siren on this specific car, or to tell me which fuse I should be checking in the various fuse boxes scattered around this land yacht!
