Is it the optical CD changer? Make sure the connectoins on it are clean if it is. Does the CD eject? I had problems with mine and it was a case of if it ejects it doesn't play and visa versa so i had to re-do the wireing.

I have an optical CD changer in the garage that came out of my 2001 CL600. The unit used to jam occasionally so I striped it down and repaired it but I tore the ribbon cable inside. If this unit is any good to you then you can have it for £20. If you have the same unit an are confident with a screwdriver then then the parts will be interchangeable. I'll get the part number off of mine if you want the details.
