I'm giving due consideration to swapping the Gallardo for something more sensible.

Basicly, have 2 kids now, I never get the chance to drive it apart from the 3 mile journey to and from work....great!
At weekends if I do get the chance, I tend to go for a blat in either the Caterham or the Elise.

So I'm thinking I should have something I can actualy use at weekends etc when there are all 4 of us.

So opinions please on...

Maserati QP
BMW M5
Audi S6
Mercedes CLS 63 AMG

Or a wild card...

Range Rover Supercharged.

Informed opinions welcomed....

I don't mean to be rude an I'm sure your children are little angels but aren't kids likely to ruin the interior of any car?

I'd choose the car with the interior that looks like it can take the most battering.

My lad's 5 and he hasn't ruined the interior of the Gallardo, nor the 360 Modena before that.

The Elise, Caterham and Audi are all fine too.

No, I don't see that as a problem!

Depends on age of kids, if really young. I would say the range rover, as easier to lift them in and out and throw stuff in the boot. This is what my ex uses with her lot, finds it easier than the 5 series she used to have.

Out of the cars you list, as much as I love the CLS, I'd probably go for the Maserati QP - simply as on a typical trip you'll see loads of Mercs, but rarely a Maser - and if you do it's probably a 3200 / 4200, not a QP.

For a wildcard I'd add in a Cayenne or big Jag, although I prefer your other choices.

Thinking about it, would you buy brand new or nearly new? Either way, do you mind about initial cost / depreciation etc?

I had thought of the Cayenne, but as far as I can tell they have, shall we say, a bad image.

Everyone I've mentioned it to has said "No, everyone will think you're a w4nkr

3 not on your list....

Bentley cont GT ? I was going for that, but went for 997S cab instead.

AM Rapide... a tad expensive.

In 2009?? Porsche's 4 door, "Panamera". Should be bloody good, but no idea when u could actually get one, assuming they are going to make it....

Bentley, as I said to be usefull I need 4 doors really othersiwse it's be a pain, plus I'm not 50 plus yet!
I'd previously set myself up for a 612 Scagliettie but being realistic it wouldn't work.

AM Rapide and Porsche Panamera, yes now there's a thought, but how long 'till they're out?

Do go and drive one of these, they really are the dogs whatsits.

They don't sound as nice as the CLS 55AMG but are unbelievably quick and in a dark colour very stealthy.

If I hadn't previously promised Mrs Nobacon a large extension ( to the house ) one would be on its way to me now irked
