Looks rather Maybach like.. Which certainly isn't a compliment.

Benz really has the weirdest model range of any manufacturer I can think of these days.. Not only do they want all their thumbs in all the pies, they even seem to have thumbs for pies that don't even exist.

Maybach convertible? Might it be possible that Merc are testing the water for Maybach derivatives? They're not exactly shifting as many Maybach as they would like so it would stack up that they may look at other models and the styling is "quite" normal...

Technical highlights include:

the innovative soft-top mechanism resulting in smooth operation and fast closing times;

the Airscarf neck-level heating system, which is featured on all four seats, allowing occupants to enjoy top-down motoring even in the colder months of the year.

Purlease - so that's the technical highlight? Hardly ground breaking...

No doubt America will lap it up though...

Excellent!...Looks like BMW have managed to turf Chris Bangle over to Mercedes Benz to mess up their cars as well now!

I thought the same thing!! But the thing is Mercedes has to compete with the likes of the Bentley GTC. The merc CL didnt really have any real competion before the Bently GT came along. If BMW decide to produce the Roll-royce 101, then merc has more up market competion. You cant blame mercedes for makin something big and vulgar, their just tryin to keep up with the jones.

Excellent!

Godawful fugly, the latest Benz offerings. Hideous new S-Class was followed by equally hideous new CLS. Thnakfully they left the SL's styling alone though.
