can any V8 merc be made to sound like an SL55 ????

if any one has any ideas , I have a CL500 W140 98 , but it sounds like a 6 cylinder car !! does anyone know of a exchaust uprade thast not too silly in price or what ever it takes?/

Hi there.

May be try CKS Performance: CLICKY LINKY

These guys do lots of mods for Mercedes cars. Engine-wise, for your CL500, they do a superchip (+21bhp), camshafts (+20-30bhp), uprated air filters (+5bhp), free-flow catalytic converter (+20bhp) and customised back boxes (+5bhp). Free-flow cats are £450+VAT. That plus a backbox would increase noise.

If your inlet is like mine then the 2 outer portions of the air intake, the underneath of these unclip.

Unclip these, refit your cold air feeds and then floor the throttle on the road, you will be very pleased.

I'd rather hear the noise and not annoy anyone else.
