my passenger window doesnt drop and raise as it should when you open and close the door , any ideas on what or where I should look

Also my rain sensor has stoppped working , so now the wipers work only in the traditional 3 speed fashion , any ideas on what I should check out?

The rain sensor could just be broken, and could just need replacing. May be try a brokers yard to get a cheap part?

As for the window.....does the window operate normally (one-touch up and one-touch down opertation), and its just when the door is opened and closed?
If it doesn't operate normally, you be the switch or regulator. As for the latter part of my question, I wouldn't know.

Just some suggestions - we've not had these problems on our CL420, so can't give any exact advice.

Hope you get your problems sorted quickly and, indeed, cheaply!!! These C/W140s have a justified reputation for being expensive to fix!

Which regard to your window problem, there might be something jammed up in there or it might just need a lube job. If your car has a power windows, you need to see if there is voltage in your Mercedes window motor. If there is, then the motor is shot. If not, then the problem is in the wiring or the switch... Goodluck...

Shouldn't be too serious, the widows just need resetting :

1) Send each of the 4 windows down 1 at a time, as each window gets to the bottom keep holding the switch for 5 seconds.

2) Send each window up again 1 at a time, but only use the first click of the switch (not the one shot) hold for 5 seconds, then hold it on the one shot setting for 5 seconds without letting go inbetween.

Might take a couple of attempts to get it right !

If this doesn't work, and you have an early CL, it's quite likely the door wiring loom has stretched over time. They have big heavy doors and the looms were a little tight at the start of production.

It does sound like your rain sensors gone west however.

This happened to our CL, it seems to have sorted itself out though, what I did learn though was that the window can be pushed up manualy as a temporary solution to block out the wind noise.

Hope you get it sorted out
