Don't know if this is something or nothing. Just moved into a new apartment and got chatting to my lovely new blonde neighbour this morning. She has a silver SL500 which she bought a year ago.

However i noticed on the back the model number is not written SL500, and actually reads 500SL

Is that strange or as im starting to think, has someone possibly sold her a SL350 and badged in 500 ????

As i say maybe nothing, but thought i'd ask you guys on here before saying anything to her !!

Thanks

I have a blonde g/f so although the neighbour is blonde and very nice, i just interested in maybe helping her with a possible con job where she has been sold an SL500 which may not actually be a 500

Thanks for the comments though

I believe the RAC do some sort of identity check on vehicles. You will need to input her registration number into their search, and it should come up with vehicle type.

Either that, or she can enter her details on dvla website, ie mot number, v5 number and it will come up with all mot history, and vehicle description. biggrin

Incidentally, what does her V5 say? It would have the correct description of the vehicle on there. It is pretty easy to change a badge, but the V5 would show the truth.
I think on reflection it may be the vosa website that holds MOT details. nuts

If she hasn't noticed herself, then why worry her?

Quite possibly it's had a bump and new badges not put on correctly - sometimes you see C Class saloons with CLK on the back.
