W211 E320 CDI Tyres

When I bought my Benz it had 4x conti sportcontact3 255 x 55 R16V's on it.
I got a puncture last week and they were all actually getting a bit low on tread so replaced them all. Local tyre dealer reckoned it was a weird size (?) and could only get me Goodyear Eagle NCT 5's at £130 per corner, fully fitted and balanced etc.
What a mistake-a-to-make-a.
To sum it up, they're s h i t. Wet weather grip is laughable, dry not much better and they squeal like piggies with hot pokers in their arses. They're noisy and i've not noticed any improvement in economy.
