Hi
they dont seem to do 8 pot for the E55 Komp, , i heard Bremo are rubbish at high speeds as they warm up quick,i will have to look around to see wot else i can find.
thanks
Speak to Kevin at Birds Auto, they use AP and are also distributors for Carlsson. So can give you good advice I used them when I had the misfortune of having a CLK 55.they dont seem to do 8 pot for the E55 Komp, , i heard Bremo are rubbish at high speeds as they warm up quick,i will have to look around to see wot else i can find.

I would recommend a pad change, I don’t think changing the rotors or callipers is worthwhile. I fitted a new set of disks and some EBC street/track pads to mine 2 years ago and they have been great. The pedal feel is not quite as good as the standard pad (90% imo) but they will take a lot more hammer before fade, and I have never had anything other than a solid pedal even with spirited driving.
I thrash my E55 to with in a inch of its life and have never had any problems with the brakes getting too hot or fadeing. Do you need an upgrade for track day use ? I purchased a new set of front discks and some red stuff brake pads to fit when the pads need changing thinking that I would need uprated brakes but dont think i will need them.
My only criticisum with the standard pads is the amount of dust they generate.

hi
Problem is the car is running about 570-580 Bhp and the power is alot more then the standard 469 bhp, i dont race much on the tracks but when the disc and pad get real hot there is no stopping,
So you think i should change my pads again to Red Stuff? or is there some other pads which are better?
thanks

Have you changed the brake fluid? Is the loss of brakes caused by boiling brake fluid or overheated pads? If you don't know then changing discs & pads may make no difference at all
You could use more aggressive pads which can work at higher temperatures than the standard ones but, if the brake fluid is boiling, there will be no improvement
You need to do some proper testing

Looks like your car has Brembos and there are two types of Pagid pad available
If, as you say, "They heat up too quick", then how is a change of pads going to help? The heat has to go somewhere. The pads make no difference to the amount of heat generated by a given stop. What makes a difference is how fast the braking system can dump that heat and how the braking system can deal with the temperatures generated
Buying pads without knowing where the problem lies is not going to solve your problem. Finding where the problem lies is the key
