buying a G-wagen
Discussion
hi,
I am on th hunt, buying a G-wagen. Been a dream really for years, so going to bite the bullet i think!! Anyway, any suggestions for what to be weary of?? Am looking for something second hand, low milage, approx 50,000 mls, 3.0l diesel. Also, any ideas of specific web-sites that cater for g-wagens. Did come across balooner.com with autotrader but cant find anything else??? Would you recomend the g-wagen too?
thanks

There are very few in the UK and most are seriously over-priced. Given most will be left hand drive anyway, it is worth shopping in Europe. You get a lot more for you money. Just do the approved used car search at the German or French Merc sites or try www.mobile.de.

If you're going down that route, also try the Belgian market. Anything with an engine bigger than 2l is ridiculously taxed over there (even worse than ours), and affects the price of used cars dramatically. There are very few in the UK and most are seriously over-priced. www.lhdcarcompany.com in Nottingham have plenty but they are still expensive, generally nearly new imports from the USA.
