1984 280SE - worth putting any money in to?

As above - is there any money at all in these old warhorses?

I've had one sitting dormant for over a year and can't work out whether to sell to the scrappy as is or to spend £500 to try and get it back on the road for a sale? The body work and interior are in good order (due £2k of respray a couple of years ago). How the engine will be now is anyone's guess.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
