Does anyone know where I can get keyless go cards from apart from Mercedes, and can used ones be reprogrammed?

My SL came with keys and cards. Card goes in your wallet, so much easier.

They can be reprogrammed - I got all mine (2 keys & 2 cards, cards weren't working) resynced a couple of months ago at MB. The tech was a nice bloke and just did them while he was investigating another problem, which I thought was very nice of him. They do need the full set though.

Sorry if l'm repeating what's already been said, but are you saying that MB's with Keyless Go should come with both keys AND cards?

l've just bought from a MB Dealer, a SL55 AMG 2004 but only got given 2 keys so am l missing the cards (which would be far more convenient to carry around)?

Thank you.....

Keyless go normally has the regular key, which includes the removable metal key for getting access to the car, and two credit-card sized cards for your wallet which stay in your pocket and are used day-to-day to access and start the car.

You do not need the regular key with you, just the black card.

In my case, the key for my '03 CL55AMG stays at home at all times and I had a space metal skeleton made by my local MB dealer, which is tucked away in my wallet just in case of a problem with the card.

From about 03 onwards Merc finished with the key card and put the key-less go
stuff in the key, so, you keep your key in your pocket and use the buttons on the door and gear leaver in the usual way.

So my 2004 SL won't have any 'cards' by the sound of it?

No, I bought my SL600 new in late 03 and Merc had just introduced the
new key-less go system then, I think 04 model year on.
