E220 estate prices

Looking on the bay, a Merk on a 53 plate with 72k went for £5280.
This seems cheap, but after further research, about right .
What is wrong with the current shape e class estates?

Nothing really.

Just the way things are I guess.

The main thing to look out for on the pre 2005 models is the radiator, some of the early ones leaked and if this gets into the gearbox can cost serious money to sort out.

Nothing much wrong with them.

As with most modern luxo-barges, lots of toys/electrics/etc to go wrong. No different from BM's Audis etc though.

BTW - forget 220's. You can pick up a nice E500 saloon for the same cash. Estates cost a little more - hovering around the 10k mark now for an early one.
