R129 Hardtop removal

Does anyone know if there is a way of removing the hardtop on my SL manually?

From memory, there is a tool in the toolkit that can be used to manually retract the softtop and then attach the hardtop, however, cannot recall if it can also be used in reverse (as you want to).

Before doing anything else, I would pop along to the MB forums and ask Television or Stats007 (I think he is on here)

Thanks, after buggering around for a couple of hours we managed to get it off, using the 'tool' and a few expletives.
