Mercedes SL55 amg - air filter upgrade

Anybody know the best airfilters for the car , and how to fit them is it an easy job with a torx screwdriver or is more invovled and best to take to a Merc mechanic?

I've been told the K&N drop ins are a popular mod but have also been told by respected tuners to leave the filters alone.

I was told not to use any after market air filter that requires oiling as they have a habit of messing up the Lamba probe.
dont no how true this is but over on the MB boards they recomend leaving the original alone.

Hi Mike, just been reading Mercedes enthusiast July 08 and MKB
do upgrade air filters see page 85.
On Line at www.mkb-power.de .

Also do a 670bhp conversion for the 55Komp engine Hmmmmm.
