My mates dad bought this car brand new in 1983 and still has it. 500SEL AMG......think it was this car that got me into mercs; best memory doing 155mph on a french A-road on the way to the '87 LeMans.

I know it looks a bit dated now but back in 1983 people would literally stop dead in the street and watch it go by......great car with lots of great memories.

How did you guess? It was an amazing day, although minus 6, snow, and 563 bhp isn't the ideal combination

Here's my new (to me) W210 e240 wagon.

I know, it's no AMG but us car photographers don't travel lightly. It's absolutely perfect for my needs, although it does like a drink and is rather asthmatic. Still, £1850 for a 72k miler, full leather, AC, mem seats, dimming mirror, auto wipers etc isn't too bad. I even got some free rust thrown in.

Still taking cracking pics Dean I see.

I had a W210 in old man green with beige leather and I loved it, in fact should have never sold it really, you can get so much in them it is unreal.
The boots are huge, and certainly far bigger than my W211 E Class.....

1972 300 SEL 6.3

New to me, doing a road shakedown at the moment sorting out any mechnical issues but off to be restored soon. Can't decide over keeping it original, painting it gangster black, or doing the full on Red Pig conversion. Hmm!! wink

Body restoration mostly, but refreshing all of the suspension, brakes and anything else that needs doing to make it reliable. It's in very good condition really, the interior is superb, leather completely unmarked, headlining very clean etc. 103k miles on it and FMBSH to 95,000 mls.

So it's either going to be painted gold as original, black because I like it, or heaven forbid if I grow a pair I might go all the way and copy the red pig at least cosmetically (it's quick enough anyway) and get it FIA approved etc.

Red Pig

This is my 2003 sl55, with slight styling modifications and lowered. I'm not sure about future mercs but I might be right in thinking that there will be no new supercharged engines from them which is a real shame.

My SL500 was delivered new to me in July 2003. I originally bought it for my wife, but she has a preference for the Smart ForTwo, (we live in a congested city). Hence the car has rarely seen rain and has only 10,000 miles on it, of which about 6000 would be from a few long trips, including 2000 in the first week. It is pretty much as new, and has the original tires which will have to be changed in the Spring de to age. Will probably keep it permanently. I like this generation of SL.

Very nice thumbup

Keep it in that condition with low mileage and its sure to be a future collectors item.
