I drove the e63 around far longer than was allowed when we moved to Zürich. After much research I came to horrible conclusion that there was no way it could be imported without undoing all the lovelyness, and even then would be over £2k in yearly road tax and more for insurance. So with heavy heart I sold it. Luckily, it went to a like minded Merc nut who works at one of the London main dealers. He has already fixed several of my bodges, made it go much faster and sends regular updates
I rather had my heart set on an early w222 s63 - even sorted out the finance for the 30-ish% that I didn't have. Then thought what the hell am I doing buying something I don't have the momey for, and cancelled the contract. Went out the next day and bought a 24 year old C43 estate with cash. I saw it originally as interim car, but I bloody love it! It has over 250k on the clock, is plenty quick enough for a country that is relentless on speed control and it's really good on fuel (a relative statement of course). It is in astonishiong condition for its age, and turns out it is quite a rare thing too (especially in black/black). I have since had several folk come up asking if I'd sell it. The good lady wife has also aquired affection for it, so it will become hers when we can afford the posherer car.
It came with the original 17" monoblocks, and they will go on after I get them refinished as they were used as winter wheels and had a few curb marks etc.

I'm actually considering one of these as my next purchase. I personally think they are one of the best looking estate cars ever. Unfortunately, the only cars that are within my current budget, without resorting to finance or loans, are four cylinder diesels. I am just slowly adding to my funds until I can find a car with at least six cylinders. I have been tempted to go and buy a nice 6 cylinder petrol on tick but I would rather spend my money on fuel than repayments.
They're gorgeous.I started with a Havansite blue 350d Shooting Brake, (saddle brown interior), moved on to a Hyacinth red Shooting Brake, (grey interior). The blue one goes back to Mercedes in a few weeks as the lease ends.
It's the only car I've ever gone and bought a second one of. The newest one I think will be my keeper.
Lovely Mercs everyone, I've enjoyed going through these pages.
I've recently acquired an older Mercedes. I had a Toyota MR2 Turbo for weekend fun which I absolutely adored. My first born during Covid made me realize that I had no time at all to enjoy the car anymore, so it was sold and I've now ventured into something completely different which I'm hoping I can use on the weekends with the family for days out.
1993 Mercedes 190E 2.0 in Rosewood Metallic and just 84,000 miles. One of the last off the production line. I've already removed the roof rack as I feel that it spoils the lines of this classic Mercedes. It has been kept in fine fettle and the only spot of rust on it is the nearside wing. It's pretty clean, the interior looks barely used and whilst it is a complete contrast to my ordinary kind of weekend car I must say that I am enjoying the experience so far
Stacks of history including the original bill of sale and the sign off sheet from when it left the production line.
I hope you approve:

No pics as yet but just bought a 2019 C300 AMG Line Estate. Hopefully arrives this Wednesday or Thursday.
It replaces my current 2014 C250D Sport Estate which I've had for nearly 5 years and now on 91,000 miles so time to go. It's been a pretty faultless family wagon in that time but no more commuting (thanks Covid) means my mileage has dropped massively so I can now go back to a petrol car.
Its Obsidian Black so any tips from other owners on how to keep it looking relatively clean would be appreciated.
