Hi all,
This is my W219, I've owned it for 2 1/2 years and covered just under 35,000 miles which I've thoroughly enjoyed. I try to keep it as well as I can although I must say at the moment it is a little grubby on the outside due to the time of year, I do however keep the inside as tidy as possible.
I maintain and repair my own cars and along the way have also carried out a few little 'OEM+' upgrades to improve it further. I hope to keep it for as long as I can as it does everything I ask of a daily. It's quiet, comfortable, enough modern features, reasonable economy, quick, spacious and effortless to drive.
I'm based in Cambridge but this is a photo I took on our trip to Scotland when we visited The House Of Bruar.
Thanks.

2 of ours are Mercedes, S63 (750hp) and the AMG GTC Roadster, both are the best ive owned after 100s of sports cars.
That S-Class looks superb.Really rate the looks of that model.
Not very PH, but we have replaced 2 Merc's with 1.
My wife's SLK350 was getting very little use, a 4 seater convertible would be more useable.
The plan was to sell the SLK and buy a CLK.
Having dodged the Balance Shaft bullet with the SLK350, I was keen to avoid the gamble with a CLK280/350 and started looking at CLK200's, while my wife was looking at CLK500's...
The problem was, early R171's are not making great money so any CLK500 was likely to be a bit leggy.
Doing some man maths, realising that also selling the C43/55, pooling the funds into 1 car could result in CLK55 AMG. A 4 seater convertible for Mrs N and a V8 for me.
(plus 1 less car to insure and tax) and I would still have my C36 AMG.
With both the SLK & C43/55 selling surprisingly quickly in the middle of winter, we soon found an ideal late model CLK55.

This is my old W124 Turbodiesel.
It looks standard from the outside but has a modified engine and transmission etc. I love the combination of comfy 4 seater practicality, mechanical diesel simplicity, economy and outragous performance when required. I’ve had her in this guise for over 5 years, we use it for family holidays, visiting friends around the country, trips to Spa etc and I also do the odd 1mile, 1/2 roll racing event.
Some lovely cars on this thread - thought you might appreciate me adding this old girl.

How would you say it is as an everday car? I have always liked them and wouldnt mind one as our next car! Currently have a Alfa Guilietta 2.0jdtm
Ideal! Done 70k miles in it and cant think of a suitable replacement at the moment!Shame they didn't do a coupe version, but I am a fan of the saloon look even though I have no requirement for the extra doors!!
Also been chipped so running 300bhp + & 720nm allegedly.

Great thanks, you have the exact spec I would want (assuming black leather), love the look of them especially the saloon. Shame they didn't do a coupe version, but I am a fan of the saloon look even though I have no requirement for the extra doors!!

Presume it has been reliable? Any niggling things that annoy you about it?

I don't have leather unfortunately but that would compliment it nicely I admit.Presume it has been reliable? Any niggling things that annoy you about it?
Worth checking the oil cooler seals have been changed - 2 £6 parts and 6-8 hours labour, common issue on the OM642 engine.
Apart from that, nothing major!
Had hundreds of Mercs over the last few years but these three are all keepers:
SL500 - Resprayed two years back, genuine two piece BBS and I have the AMG kit being painted in the next few months
W210 E55 - Owned for the longest, rust free and on 83K
Bought as a barn find a few years back, completely restored it, all the rare bits on it (gen AMG kit, AMG MONO Steering Wheel) and only 32K miles. I also have a Mossellman Twin Turbo and a Cosworth dogleg to go on it (eventually!)
