This is my old W124 Turbodiesel.
It looks standard from the outside but has a modified engine and transmission etc. I love the combination of comfy 4 seater practicality, mechanical diesel simplicity, economy and outragous performance when required. I’ve had her in this guise for over 5 years, we use it for family holidays, visiting friends around the country, trips to Spa etc and I also do the odd 1mile, 1/2 roll racing event.
Some lovely cars on this thread - thought you might appreciate me adding this old girl.

This needs a thread of it's own and lots of pictures in it. My C63S looking 'as nature intended' covered in brake dust, dirt and dead flies after a spirited run from the UK to Normandy in summer 2020.
Perfect use for it.I've been down to the south and southwest of France & Normandy numerous times in my various C43 & E500 estates.
This was 3 years ago before I stuck some 18's on.
After all the above wonderful cars here's one I bought new in 2001 and sold in 2013 after 350,000 kms, which, apart from servicing, cost me £2,000 in repairs. I sold it to a friend who still has it.
It was followed by this one, a basic T204 200CDi, still with us, and which has done 250,000 kms, with not one thing going wrong and needing only servicing.
That is now the wife's shopping trolley, and I replaced it with another 2014 T204 C200CDi, bought 18 months ago, 18,000 miles and all bells and whistles, but which has only done 10,000 trouble-free miles due to lockdown. No need to post a photo - it looks the same although it is an Avant Garde and not basic. These three were preceded in 1994 by a used W204 saloon, again virtually trouble free in 100,000 miles. What is astounding is that in all those miles and years I have never had to replace a battery. These aren't like the cars above, just reliable everyday transport, and very cheap motoring, but are a tribute to the reliability of a Mercedes.
