Beast.

At the weekend I was chewing the fat with some blokes, one of whom had a 1.5 mile commute and drove a Quattroporte. Which got me looking at CLS55's again. I really really want to scratch the 55K itch and the CLS is a brilliant way to do it.

Nice. 19 years ago it was one of them that got me into V8 Mercs in the first place

W86 ODM to be precise.

I’ve just bought this, my first Mercedes. A 2006 S500 with the upgraded TV, DVD and sound system, excellent condition throughout, looks more like a 3 year old car than a 16 year old one. Bought for only £3,500.

I was in one of those on those rims once. It was an airport limo in Greece. Best ride I've ever experienced.

I washed mine over the weekend. Close up it's picked up some imperfections in the paintwork; but it still photographs well.

Well, after 11 years an vears 100,000 we have had our first problem with our S204, and it isnot going to cost much to fix anyway. One of the wheel senders has either failed or got a dodgy connection because we no longer have ABS or tyre pressure monitoring. Any one know what it costs, out of curiosity? Can't be much I guess.

Plus an hours labour at your local MOT/tyre place.

(FYI, the link above it to the Ebay shop/outlet of Synter Mercedes Newcastle. This should be saved in the bookmarks bar of all 10 yr old Merc owners.

They do genuine parts with proper invoices etc for often less than the spurious brands you get from Euros/GSF etc. I just did brakes all round - Pads, discs, handbrake shoes, new bolts, new sensors etc on my W212 for less thn £350.

Service packs for A and B with the proper graded oil, again not really any more than ECP and free postage too.

If they dont list what you need, just ask and they'll sort it. You get proper merc invoices too. Cannot sing their praises enough, they must have someone in the parts department whos quite savvy to run all this).

Ooer!

£3500 for an S500 is pretty good going, where did you find that?

Autotrader. From a very nice seller near me who had the car for 8 years and it was clearly very well looked after. It is high mileage but remarkable condition inside and out, engine and gearbox so smooth. I also had it inspected with no faults found, nothing of concern logged in any of the systems either.

Even if it goes wrong I would say you have found yourself a great purchase there. Especially in today’s market…you could probably turn that around for double if you so desired smile

I watch these and don't recall such a reasonable one on sale -- I assume that you put in a cheeky offer?

I saw it about 10 days ago at £4,250 in Essex, messaged the seller and he confirmed a few details, then went to see it last Thursday, by which time it had dropped to £3,990. I offered £3,500 after a test drive when it was obvious it had been very well looked after which was accepted straight away. The seller even drove it 15 miles on the Saturday morning to get it inspected and then drove it to my house. I found the locking wheel but key had been completely mangled so the seller has bought me another one and is going to drop it off to me.

Winning -- I'm sure the guys on the barge thread would like to hear about it too. Some more photos would be great!

Wow!

(Have you checked there isn’t a dead body in the boot or something, that seems suspiciously too good to be true smile)
