when you say good - how much ?

My dear chap surely one does not have to discuss such a torrid subject as mere coinage. All one has to do is use someone else's The essentials that a hotel must have is a lot of

If anyone wants me to look into accomodation etc in the area, I can do, just e-mail me with your requirements, price range etc (as one person already has) and I will gladly have a look round. THere are a few decent hotels in my area which I have discovered in looking for a wedding venue, it all depends on how much you want to pay and how far away you want. I will have a quick look round now and post some choice hotels on here.

I understand futureMr.wedg1esdaughter's father-in-law knows of some interesting hotels. The type where room service is paid for with cash and the room is messier afterwards. Sorry Wedg1e, no defamation of character intended, it was Dexy who told me this.

:horriffied:

HOW CAN YOU SUGGEST THAT?!?!?! Do you really think I would dare show my face in a maxxxxxxed car?! No, it is a bog standard, L-reg, Mark 3 1.9 Diesal, with no alterations, it hasn't even had an airfreshener added!

Treat yourself to a night at Lumley Castle. Top notch food and, if you're very lucky, you might see the resident ghost

Good hotel though and just far enough away to get the Tusc well warmed up the next morning.

Maybe Lumley Castle would be a good meeting place for a group? Not too far off the A1, and it's the big castle shaped thing so should be easy enough to find for 'outsiders'.

So the Meetings on the Sunday! Is there anyone meeting on the Saturday night around the Newcastle area? For example stay in a cheap B and B or an exclusive hotel (?)on the Saturday night, or if you live in the area you don't need to bother, then we all meet and go and get pissed. Then we all meet bright eyed on Sunday morning and drive to the event!

Edited to add: If it's just us Tynesiders who would fancy meeting in the Red Lion Pub in Boldon on the Saturday afternoon or evening. Bring the car to pose for a bit then drop it off home, I would follow you and bring you back to the pub. Then we could get pissed 'cos I only live round the corner and could drop my car off and walk back in a minute!

If the old V8S gets fixed this seems like a good run out (from Manchester) - do I need to buy tickets or do I just turn up. What exactly are the plans for convoys ( not official one's you understand Gemini).

I was planning on going up the M6 from Preston, off at jct 38 (Tebay) then up the A684 and then the A66, A67 and then A688 to Raby Castle

Anybody fancy a meet-up on the M6, possibly at the Moto services at Lancaster?

PlanetDave and I are probably going up on Saturday pm
We are still looking into the hotel thingy, found a few promising ones though, decent enough distance away so good drive in on Sunday am.
Lots of the hotels that we like the look of are only small so would only be able to cater for a few people.

Did anyone book into Lumley Castle?

Is that THE place to stay?
