Anyone have any 'inside' info on the Alfa 4C?

not impressed so far...
dash looks nothing like the p/type.
wouldnt be surprised if they stuck a diesel in it.
if it were a VAG product i'd go with you on the diesel thing as for the dash its quite clearly a test mule, you've only got a couple of weekes til geneva to see the real thing, if it looks like that i'll fax you a fiverdash looks nothing like the p/type.

to be fair from a concept being shown to production ready example shown in 2 years isn't too shabby, considering they're using new tech and production methods i think its not a bad effort. also factor in the exclusivity and desirability and i think 50k is good money, sure i'd love it to be 25k so i could afford one but its not. they might want to limit how many are bought by speculators a la 8c so that we see them on the road also factor in that they are aiming this squarely at the americans and then it makes much more sense.

ok - to be fair, an exige weighs something like 920kg - with a supercharged 240hp engine, its an amazing machine. If Alfa could come up with 850kg, and (hopefully) 250hp, the 4c will be a monster!!
I have just got an invite from Alfa to Geneva!!! so off to see it in a few weeks time!
Is that ust becuase youre a good customer or are you in the biz?I have just got an invite from Alfa to Geneva!!! so off to see it in a few weeks time!
Thanks
I agree with youre sentiments rather have lightness.
Having put the 'deposit' down a couple of years ago then getting my money back in frustration, I'm watching this with interest.
Quite honestly I'd now rather wait to see if the 300 bhp Stradale comes out as that would be the one to get in my opinion.
It is a very sexy car so I hope thay do it properly and don't cut corners.

Alfa told me they aren't issuing stand passes as it will be fully open to the public at Geneva - sounds like they weren't being strictly accurate :-)I have just got an invite from Alfa to Geneva!!! so off to see it in a few weeks time!

needs more red! they could have done something a la fiat coupe which would have looked lovely don't mind the colour or the seats but the middle tunnel in the concept was showing almost TVR like styling (as the quality will anyway be tvr like ) they could at least have left the outrageous design untouched - a chance missed me thinks

I hope this is as sorted as it should be. I'm an Alfa lover (I've had 10 ), but this needs to have a bit of Ferrari chassis tuning to be a success....
Two years ago I sold my Lotus Europa S (225hp/950kg) to get a Cayman S. I love the usability of the Cayman, but miss the suppleness and deftness of the lighter Lotus. If Alfa can create a lighter Cayman/more useable Lotus cocktail it should be perfect.
But I really need to read a test before selling the Porsche....
