I think Ridgards are made to order, so you could probably arrange a wider fitting. As I said earlier though, Bob died, I don’t know if the company is carrying on or not. It did appear to be very much a one man business.
But perhaps it’s a family owned affair and is still going.

That sounds a lot like my car except mine had a largely standard interior (bar steering wheel and seats). They are a lot of fun and quick enough for most situations. Mine has the 200 bhp Alfaholics engine, suspension, brakes, gearbox, LSD etc etc.

Fire away with any questions or feel free to drop me a message and we can have a chat.

Hi - what seats are you using in your car? I have a '69 GTJ stepnose with the std seats and with more motor, suspension and brakes, it's hard to stay in one place on the stock seats!
Hi fergus. I have Recaro Speed seats in mine. They are very comfortable and quite spacious, probably a bit too spacious for me as I am quite a slim build. Nice seats and readily available.

So, what’s the consensus as to what would be needed to be spent on this to get it to an approximation of a GTA-R? Looks like a lot has been spent already, but perhaps from a different perspective.

And, what’s the best guess as to hammer price?

Looks OK as it is to be honest.
If you really needed all the bells and whistles that Alfaholics put on the GTAR I think you might as well start with one which is much lower spec in the first place.

That's a similar spec to mine and I'd be dubious of the 180bhp claim but there's nothing you'd need to do to that car it should drive great if it's as good as it reads.
The Alfaholics cars are probably 100kg lighter at least due to carbon panels, have another 40bhp or so at least and have power steering and titanium /lightweight suspension. For road driving would that be worth the extra £150k they would charge you on top of that car to build?
Don't forget these cars often need a massive amount of bodywork to cut out all the rot, that one appears to have had it all done. There's prob 20k worth of labour and paint saved right there, at 38-40k the owner won't be getting back what they spent by having the work done for them.
If it's built right and if its pushing out a genuine 150+ bhp it will be a cracking fun thing to own.

Yes, I think it looks like quite a good one doesn't it. Agree on the cost vs a GTA-R. Maybe with a bit of £££ spent you could sprinkle some Alfaholics magic on it and even though it would be a long way from a GTA-R, it would also be much cheaper. Perhaps 75% of the experience for 25% of the cost?

The challenge of course is the current market and that it looks a bit of a challenge to go and have a look at it / have it inspected.

Will be interesting to see how this auctions shapes up as I think it will give a good sense of the market.

It's not a step front but it looks sweet and if you are hankering for one it would be worth investigating then watching the auction. Good cars don't come up very often and it will give you 85% of the "gtar" thing for a fraction of the price as you say.
40-50k from a dealer isn't out of the way for a very good car imho. Cheaper privately of course but like the many restored E type jags out there with a fortune lavished which don't always cover their costs of restoration.
Alfaholics are cool, the singer of the Alfa world but massively overpriced now for what they charge. You can get a very very nicely setup car that weighs circa 950kg and 150bhp is plenty:-)

That car was built by Bonello Brothers of Newcastle, who are the 'go-to' guys for 105s in the North Country, and service my GTV, so recommended.

Don't get me wrong they've made some beautiful trick bits and turn out stunning cars but the costs for those bits are astronomical as are the fitting costs. However they've found a lucrative niche and fair play to them.
Alternative suppliers and parts are readily available and the parts availability for these cars is stunning for a classic to be fair.
Ideal for the "Resto mod" or classic enthusiasts

Depends on the reserve that the owner has set and whether it has been garaged or not. If you are talking about GTA-R specs, we could be here all day long!

It does look good value in terms of the work that has been carried out but if I were nitpicking, the later GTV is not so attractive as the 1750GTV or earlier stepfront models - why they chose to retain the awful dash and not replaced it with a 1750 one is the only thing I would change, possible update and have Alfaholics set up the suspension geometry.

Sold for £51k apparently. I thought it would go 40+ so that's good to hear.

Purists would drag you through the streets for sticking a twin spark in a step front generally. It's not the done thing. Well it wasn't until Alfaholics made it sexy and cool...
But a lot of people prefer the original 8v nord for originality, albeit you need to chuck serious cash at it to get more than 150bhp. If you do want 200 (nice but not needed) then TS is the way to go as I understand it along with a chunk of cash.
Well if you're going to offend the Alfa purists, you may as well do it properly ... :

So £43k at Alfaholics then a purchase price of £99k, does that mean a standard car would be £56k?

TX.

From the description, it sounds like the car had an extensive, ground up restoration before it went to Alfaholics.

Every time this thread pops up I click on it, like a fool.

All it does is re-accustom me with a feeling of inadequacy in terms of my own motoring stable.
How dare they make a car so damn sexy?

That looks like this car which DK sold maybe a couple of years ago...seems to have done very little mileage since. Was just under £100k then.
Guessing the owner didn’t get on with it as it’s not really a car you’d buy other than to drive !
