Disgrace at Auto-Italia
Discussion
My 164 disgraced itself at Auto-Italia at Brooklands by dumping a load of engine oil over the historic banking when its crankshaft rear oil seal decided it didn't want to any more. Anyone know whether this can be replaced without pulling the engine? I'd rather just pull the box out if possible.
To really finish the day off nicely my wife nipped out for some milk in the GTV and managed to reverse into a Ford Ka and took the front corner off it (bumper, light pod, creased wing, bumper) no damage to the GTV bar some plastic skid marks. Tough little car.
Many thanks in adavance.

Definitely good to see some people braving the elements and the curse of ferrous oxide to bring some interesting kit out. Very impresed too with the way the JTD 156 stormed the hill. All that low end grunt was definitely the way to go. Mate of mine took his Ferrari Boxer and had his windscreen wiper fling itself into a ditch so at least I had someone else to laugh at.
did you see the silver JTD?
that was kind of one of our guys (from our club)
that thing moves!!
220bhp i believe
can i pick your 164 flovoured brains??
one chap on sunday was talking about a limited edittion (just 200) 164 3.8l that he see's evryday, none of us had ever heard of it, have you?

It was the silver 156 that I saw. Very impressive, whistling like a steam train by the time it got to the top of the hill.
I have never heard of a 3.8l 164 either factory or after market / racing conversion. I am not really sure how the architecture could be changed to achieve it. The 164 Pro-Car was 4.0 litre but that was a one off and a V8. Other than that I think the Q4 is the top of the line perfomance wise and that is a cloverleaf 3.0l engine. I'll have an ask on the 164 Cloverleaf Register forum and see if they know anything.
[s]Edited (so that I don't look like I'm talking to myself) to say: Autodelta do now do a 3.7 litre for the 147 and 156 so it is probably technically feasible for the 164 just don't know about being factory fit.

yeah , the silver jtd owned by "remapped" is quick, he's a cool guy!
i've had a ride in the first AD 3.7, it was awsome
spoke to the owner at AI on sunday and jano's just sent me the latest pics and vid of the red 156 gta
i've put them all together and made a movie
i'll post a link for you when i get it up on a web site
the guy who says about the 3.8must be mistaken, although he's not wet behind the ears or anything and he says the cars all badged up, even the engine is!!
i'll get him to take a pic or something!!

There are two each year. The next one is probably around July. Keep an eye on the events section at www.auto-italia.co.uk
we had a great day and jano from autodelta contacted me on the tuesday
he'd taken a few pics and mixed up vids of the red devil he showed (did you see his latest 3.7 GTA?)
well, have a look at the report on the day and the red devil video

enjoy it!!
