Alfa Romeo 8C bites the dust?

OK, so it's not the greatest car mag out there, but Auto Express claim, today, the 8C won't see the light of day as Fiat top brass think it'll steal sales from Maserati 
I do hope they're wrong. But if it's true, that means Alfa have teased us with the Nuvola, Brera and 8C and delivered nothing
Still, Auto Express claim it'll be replaced with a new Sprint coupe based on the 147. Eh? Isn't that the new GTV/Spider due next year?
Still, the same magazine has the cheek this week to claim "official" pictures of the new Toyota RAV4. The pictures are official OK, but officially show a huge pickup concept shown in the States. The only link to the new RAV4 are the "bonnet line and headlights".
So, with any luck, AE are talking out of their exhaust pipe.
C'mon Alfa, the world NEEDS more cars as gorgeous as the 8C.
