Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio - Anyone Ordering One
Discussion
I'm very interested in one. Mel is also quite keen, which is very rare.
A big use for ours would be as a GT workhorse between SW France and London, so a boring question for an amazing car...
Has anybody got any real world MPG on their's yet?
The 58l tank seems a bit too small! If I thought I'd be able to get the 49.6mpg they state as extra urban then I'd be ok as that'd be 1,000+ km / 630 miles between (squeaky) fill ups. But I'll not be using 4 cylinders and sitting 100km/h for those loooong journeys!
450 miles would still work for us - right now we have to fill up every 250 miles or so (the Elise has a small tank, the Scooby drinks fuel like the world is running out of it and the XI ... well, we'd never drive the XI all the way down there).

Ive seen my first one at a local dealer, and its bloody lovely.
The carbon brakes are and the carbon seats properly lovely
Two things struck me:
-If intending to use as a potential GT/touring car, the boot is on the small side.
-Rear leg room was cramped
I shant be having one, as they cost €125,000 here, but boy have Alfa made something special
Front leg-room is massive though - 5'10" or less in the back was fine with me (6'0") in the front. A smaller person in the front would free up some leg room in the back. But I'd not fancy being there for a long time myself. The carbon brakes are and the carbon seats properly lovely

At the London preview they had an M3 next to them to compare - the boot was almost exactly the same in shape and size - probably a beetle deeper from back seats to boot lid was all. Droppable back seats are easy to spec in the BMW though - I've not yet seen an option for the Quadrifoglio.
My main worry is tank size - stopping for a refuel is an extra 15 minutes (more if you have to go inside to pay) and over 1,500 km they add up fast. I want the limiting factor to be our bladders instead

There is an Italian based tuner that is well rated, but Autolusso appears to be very well regarded in the Alfa world and is just along the road from me. Makes sense really.
I have to disagree with that. There are other Alfa specialists who are genuinely well regarded. Autolusso just happen to be very good at digital marketing. They have VERY close links with the Alfa Owner forum, such close links that I personally question the amount of love shown for them on there.waynedear said:

I'll think again.

Last night I drove from SE UK to western Germany. I did a quick check at one point on the autobahn and it would appear that, in "A" mode and going at around 125mph I was seeing approximately 17.5mpg. One tank would only just do Folkstone to Cologne (around 255 miles). At that speed anyway... Thanks... But man! that's not what I want to hear! That's the same as now Mel now hates to speed though, so maybe doing a bit less, we'd see a bit more Also - anybody got the extra cruise control stuff? What does that actually do? Watch Jeremy Clarkson in his GTI and saw it could almost drive itself on the motorway... if I could power nap for 100 miles at a time it'd be a much quicker feeling run

I specc'ed the adaptive cruise, and it basically works the same as my '14 Golf Mk7 - monitoring distances and adjusting speed/gap as required (this is adjustable). BUT like the Golf the cruise will only work under 100mph Also - anybody got the extra cruise control stuff? What does that actually do? What's the waiting time for these?
Will be changing our M3 in September, and whilst it's a long way off, we've been looking at the Macan GTS and I'd need to order now for possibly Sept / Oct delivery
Even an M3 Comp pack is around 20 weeks.
Taking the wife to look at the Guilin tomorrow.

They are quoting 10-12 weeks currently. Less than 100 will come to the UK in 2017 but there is no real queue currently. Will be changing our M3 in September, and whilst it's a long way off, we've been looking at the Macan GTS and I'd need to order now for possibly Sept / Oct delivery

Great Motortrend review here http://www.motortrend.com/news/alfa-romeo-giulia-q...
Went to see one at my dealer today.
Didn't have time to drive it (will soon though), but started it up......bloody Hell I could get addicted to that.
Loved the look, the stance (innit bruv) -found the interior slightly at odds with the chunky exterior and it seems the sat nav screen is very small compared to the overall dash.
Primarily this would be the wife's daily, and whilst I think it looks stunning in the tricoat red, she's non plussed over it.
I specced it to £60,050, the value after 48 months just £18k..... a bit frightening, and that's Alfas own finance figure - no doubt the usual finance houses (Lombard, Alphera etc) will be even worse.

I'd imagine it would leave you decent equity at that.

It'll be worth way more than that. The fact I'd buy one at that price guarantees it Gassing Station | Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
