Sorry to hijack this thread.....but just posted over in the General Gassing forum with regard to the recent PH test of the Alfa Workshop modded car. This morning I had the steering/tracking geometry mod undertaken by these guys and the results (although admittedly early days) seem to have transformed the way the car tracks and steers. It has almost abolished all of the (sometimes tiresome and sometimes downright scary) following of ruts/cambers in the road, plus, the steering seems to load up into corners much more evenly.

If you are thinking of having it done don't hesitate. A few hundred quid seems to have transformed my car and the guys at Alfa Workshop were excellent!!

I'll let you know if any downsides reveal themselves over the next few weeks but at the moment it just begs the question why they (Alfa Romeo) didn't set them up like this in the first place?!

Good to see others enjoying them! I've had mine for 16 months now and done close to 10,000 miles including 2 European road trips. I am still totally smitten with the thing and despite changing cars every year I really can't think what I would change it for. Well, anything that is under 100k! I think the only thing I miss is the wail from the V8 in the back of my old 360. But as a package the 4C is hard to beat.

If you get it you love it, if you don't you won't.

I am in the next few days taking the car to Alfaworks for the quicksilver exhaust and the front suspension/geo set up. I have the racing pack and whilst the noise is generally epic it is very tiring at cruising speed. As to the geo, well I enjoy the interaction of the steering but am intrigued to see what difference their well regarded changes make. Whilst I am there I may well get the new ECU and an extra 40 bhp.

Will keep you informed!

Oh and like OP said, any questions as to ownership please ask. I've had no issues whatsoever and use it whenever I can, including popping out for milk. Though often I find the best milk is in the South of France...

Let us know about the power increase as I'm keen to look into that.

I really should stop clicking on threads like these...I had an extended test drive in early May of a coupe with the racing exhaust and suspension and my back didn't break which I wasn't expecting. From the reviews everywhere I was expecting to get out a broken, deaf man. Instead I got out NEEDING to find the money to buy one. Bugger.

I did a similar test drive to you and that was the final nail in the coffin! Two days later i had bought one!

Took it out today for a quick trip to pick up some paperwork and it puts a huge smile on your face!

Hi ya,

What is the advantage of the quicksilver exhaust? Have you hear one in the flesh yet? I love the sound of the stock exhaust especially when cold and you get the crackles...is the quicksilver an improvement?

Typed on the phone so exclude any typos

Had mine for 19 months and love it, about 10500 miles including 3000 in a week to Italy . Car is lively with the std geo and after 9000 miles I let alfaworkshop reset things. For a road car money well spent as it just softens it's bad habits and you loose that slightly dead spot when going dead straight . I think if it's mainly a road car with the odd track day it's money well spent, if it's a track only car then possibly not. I had mine on the full GP circuit at silverstone with the std set up and it was amasing , more so when being given a px lap by a rather skilled professional race driver. The alfaworkshop set up doesent sanitize it and it's still an incredibly good handling car, it just softens the bad habits. I've also had the alfaworkshop exhaust fitted and that creates a great exhaust nite without the drone if the Alfa sports system at motorway speeds .

I absolutely love the car, I've had some great cars , some packing 500 bhp but honestly the 4c is the best drivers car I've ever had and it's probably the best looking as well

It's personal but I won't be swapping it for anything else , finally found a keeper

No idea but use a specialist broker like pace ward as they can get better quotes than the run of the mill of so called specialists,

Can you fit an isofix child seat in these? Do they have a passenger airbag that can be turned off?

Can't fix Isofix seats into the 4C but you can turn the airbag off. Tool my daughter out happily in both MaxiCosi rear facing car seat and a Recaro front facing seat - obviously both fixed using seatbelt.

Turning the airbag off is a option on electronic dash, it's not a key function.

Because I'm in the very fortunate position of going back to Ferrari ownership (F430). I love the 4C and would recommend it to anyone/everyone who wants an engaging and fast toy. I'm still debating whether I just put it in storage for a while but I really can't justify two two-seaters.

I swear the 4C is faster at times, but the Ferrari is a different beast. And as much as I love the powertrain in the 4C there is something truly magical about a 4.3 V8 screaming behind your head.

We were in Italy last week & came across the annual thrash around the Dolomites last weekend, probably 6 or 700 cars, I saw 2 other 4C's and all seemed to be getting more attention than the Ferraris & that's from the Italians , I would store the 4C, you are going to miss it, I think you have the Alfaworks exhaust, that sounds awesome in the Italian tunnels, take it to Italy & feel the love they have for it wink

I took mine to the Goodwood Breakfast Meeting Italian Sunday and it was great!

The 4C did not look out of place next to countless Ferarri's!
