I had a V6 and absolutely loved it, so much so that I regret selling it and want another, especially now they are getting so cheap, you don't need to spend more than 7k to get a good one anymore. If you get a Veloce the handling is pretty good and that 190bhp engine is sweet. Sorting out a decent cold air feed and a better filter (I'd not bother with an IK) and a freer exhaust gives more torque lower down and are really the only mods you need. And above all, it's NOT a 318.

Sorry to jump on this post, but looking at either a 2.5 v6 or Audi A4 or A6 as my next car, but the Alfa's are so cheap for such a lot of car they might just swing it for me. How are they on fuel consumption ?

cheers
Al

Mid 20s ish.
But who can say? It all depends so much on your type of driving/journeys and so on. Just get one, and then see how you do.

What's one of those?

There is an Alfa 90 and a 145 or a 164. I think the 164 was the last one Alfa to make it over the Pond.
Have you checked out:
www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/index.php?
It's a US based Alfa forum site and they may be better placed to help you as there were spec changes and differences for US models.

It's the road salt that screws up UK Alfa bushes as well.
