Had my test drive today. For someone who's hunting their dream mid-life crisis car with a strict criteria of manual gearbox and NA, I decided to give the 4C a chance, owing to the stonking physical appearance and the reviews, along with the incredible lease deal being on offer on this thread.

So what did I think of it?

Appearance - it's a beautiful car, very beautiful!!! The mid to rear is just ferrari-esque....I loved it. Needs the front light upgrade IMO.

Interior - sparse but that didn't bother me, the seats were a tad uncomfortable. I personally found it not spacious enough with the footwell and for my legs. Didn't listen to the stereo. In all honesty, apart from the footwell and the leg space I wasn't bothered about the plastics.

Driving Exp - well I think I am 10 years too old for this car, I found it initially massively exciting but then towards the end I was tired of it already, it's a car that I could not do a commute in. It does not drive well at slow speeds, it needs to be spanked. The noise and the drone from the sports exhaust gave me a headache. Again, initially I thought the noise was alright but by the end it bored me. It did hunt a little with the steering, but nothing that was along the scale of journalists stating that the steering wheel being pulled out of your hands, IMO an exaggeration.

For me, I think I am going to pass on it, maybe if I had a long ownership I could love it, but then again I may hate it. It's not a financial gamble I am willing to take.

I asked the dealer if they could match the lease, and they said they couldn't, indeed they said it's a common tactic to present a great deal but never deliver on it?? As in, lure you in, get your deposits and then present you with a higer figure on finance when you've signed on the dotted line...?? That end statement pretty much ended my 4C consideration.
Alpine A110? Lotus Evora? the Lotus is more comfortable, drives better, easier to live with.

Put my name down today - Red with Xenons and 5 hole wheels.

I found it fine so went for 10k lease and hope to use it as my main car. The steering tram lining is quite noticeable and I'm more than used to cars without power steering! Not tried parking it yet so can imagine that might be fun!

Does seem very cheap so I hope they can come up with the goods!

How much extra were the wheels? Not a big fan of the standard wheels so was going to replace them with a set of 18/19" OZ superlegaras. Do like the alfa hole wheels though lol

None of which are available to lease for similar money sadly.

Is there ever any option to purchase at the end of a lease deal as there would be on a straight finance option? I would like one but more than likely as a second car which probably makes a lightly used second hand purchase more sense.

Extra £35 per month (x32 payments). I haven't seen the standard wheels in the flesh but wasn't convinced I would like them. The 5 holes I saw as a safe option! The extras very quickly bump up the price (I've increased the lease cost by 20% just with paint/wheels/lights) which when I think about it is a bit stupid!

I think sometimes they will offer it you to purchase but they are not obliged to. Trouble is I can see a 2 year old car on PCP still being a lot more expensive than this PCH deal.

There are quite a few sitting on the used market and none seem to be selling they have all been around for ages

I hope to be in the market for one of these in around six months, in the mean time videos like this are wetting my appetite.

I actually have tried several Lotus evoras now, and whilst they look awesome, again I didn't like how all the pedals were so close and made me felt uncomfortable. In addition, the noise was uninspiring.

I am going to go try a Lotus Evora 400.

Noise you can sort with Lotus sports exhaust or tubular, mine has the former. You get used to the pedals being close, great for heel and toe, or you could go for the IPS, its better than you might expect

I don't think options make a lot of sense in a deal like this. You are paying less than 20% of the list price of the car over the term but 100% of any option prices.

Have to agree with this tbh. If you want different wheels you're probably better off changing them after delivery then swapping back to standard when you return the car.

I'm struggling with the headlights!

Very true! Initially I was set on upgrading to the bi-Xenons but now I think the black car acually looks better with the standard insect carbon fibre headlights...cheaper also!

Just seen this thread - I did the deal through centralukvehicleleasing (I have a Golf R with them currently) £3.2k down and £355 a month for 8k pa. All inc VAT and I've also gone for white paint and ordered through Unity.

But people here seem to have better prices - have I messed up?

My thoughts exactly.

I quite fancied yellow but not with the mandatory upgrade to leather that seems to come with it.
