The Alfa Romeo 4C lease thread

Received my 4C yesterday, it really does drive like a racecar for the road. Noisy, skittish, outrageous. It's going to take some getting used to. Maybe a trip to central Oxford in rush hour was not the best first journey!
Enjoy , after 250 kilometers you get a bit more power , in traffic if it’s to skittish put it in all weather mode , softens everything off a little , now go find some twisty roads !! j4 mte said:
Looks like the batmobile in black! Very nice!
You wont get to fully appreciate the car in this weather, anything above Natural mode gets very twitchy and scary in damp conditions! Roll on summer!!!
Spotted you again last night, god damn they look so good from every angle! I was stationary at the lights on Manor Way/Whitchurch Golf Club, suprised me how loud it is. Does yours have race exhaust? You wont get to fully appreciate the car in this weather, anything above Natural mode gets very twitchy and scary in damp conditions! Roll on summer!!!

Anyone else get a red Alfa holdall in the boot, as well as the random cleaning kit? Oh, and a red box containing a oil filler cap?
Yes, got both items on my 50th Anniversary back in July. Seems the cleaner pack has a problem as it's over 18 months old, I think sitting in the car for 1 year+ storage and some of the fluid in a couple of tins has gone off. Edited by Amateurish on Tuesday 19th December 17:33
It's a lease car so doesn't get any special cleaning so no problem and the cover is indoor version and mine won't fit up the side of the house...too wide.

All weather, Natural, Dynamic, Race - all drive the bloody same in normal driving on normal roads. You depress the throttle and flick the gears at the same time and the car behaves in the same way.
What on earth are you doing?
Hell, the car drives the bloody same in all 4 modes whether doing 0-30mph on the school run or 70-80 leptons on the motorway.
I sometimes wonder if I drive a different car to everybody else when they talk about it on the various forums.
There is a huge difference in the power delivery and shifting in All Weather and Natural! All Weather it feels like the engine makes the same noise but only a small proportion of the power actually makes it to the wheels!
I keep it in auto most of the time and in natural, dynamic is more aggressive with later shifts, but I often feel naturals earlier shifts keeps you in a more responsive power band. I might be on my own with that though!

I have a Giulietta also and the DNA on that it disables the Q2 diff for Natural, also steering and breaking and throttle are adjusted - when I put it in dynamic it takes me a while to get my shifting slick almost feels like the clutch bite point changes, but it's just the revs coming in quicker!

I think you must! Have you not noticed the absence of boost in the first few gears in All Weather mode? Or the reduced traction control in Dynamic? As for Race mode, I tried it on a very wet circuit once for a laugh - I don't recommend it unless you're a driving god All weather, Natural, Dynamic, Race - all drive the bloody same in normal driving on normal roads. Normal driving on normal roads, then you won’t see a huge a difference, but all weather cuts the turbo in 1st and 2nd for a start, so if you can’t feel that difference I dare say you may have a problem with the car! What I was referring too, is in wet damp conditions, not driving normal, in fact driving the car the way it was intended probably. If you floor the throttle in anything above natural, the car can quite easily slip it’s tail. Maybe you are a car control expert, maybe you don’t accelerate hard in poor conditions, but to say there is NO difference? To coin a phrase, What on earth are you doing????

Hi mate, yes mine has the race exhaust. It is indeed very loud! At full chat when its barking as you change gears, sounds glorious, almost like some sort of group b rally car!Gassing Station | Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
