The Alfa Romeo 4C lease thread
Discussion
Just wondering if the first of the leasers on here have had any initial discussion with Leasys as to what options there are when the lease concludes?
Is it a straight return or is there an extension or purchase in the offing too? I know in the past PCH deals weren’t open for a final purchase but that has changed recently.
I’m on a pch and would dearly like to buy/extend.

I thought those early lease deals given the low monthly cost specifically excluded buying the car at the end? If you paid a realistic amount your deal might let you stump up to buy?
Never gone this route myself but early leases should be coming to an end and the question is what then happens to the cars?

Pretty sure that I saw some Leasys paperwork mentioning about a purchase option being offered at the end of the contract. Will try and dig it out. I'm not sure if it was just generic information or specifically related to the contract. It did mention something about the person leasing the vehicle could not purchase but could be done by friend/family member.
As much as I love my 4C, don't think I'd be up for buying it unless I knew from the start I was having it. Haven't treated it terribly but certainly has taken a little more abuse knowing that is isn't completely mine. Would also have PPF'd it from the start if so.

I haven’t tried to discuss that, I did have a conversation with them about reducing my mileage - mines on a 12k a year lease and I’m only just at 12k after 15 months. They said no chance as the residual values are lower than they anticipated so it would cost me more to lower my miles than to stay as I am! If there was an option to buy it then I’d keep the miles down and tucked up in the garage over the winter, but looks like I will be out in it come rain or snow !

I know what your saying, I know every little flaw in my car but I think Leasys should be well chuffed with the condition when I return it.
Will be interesting to see what prices are doing this time next year. I’m pretty sure I will have another 4c long term but I’m flirting with the idea of trying a Vantage or FType for a short while until 4c prices bottom out!

Yes, condition wise I have taken very good care. There is an inevitable stone chip, and I do scrape the bottom plastic bumper trim almost daily however it copes fine with that as its more of a rubberised material. If I was keeping long term I would be more concerned about the frequency of short trips I do in it - I will find any excuse to go out in it, even it's a mile to the shop!!Will be interesting to see what prices are doing this time next year. Almost certain I will have another 4C at some point though! Can't think of anything that comes close to the looks or road presence for the money!

I’ve destroyed the rubbery bit under the bumper hitting a dead badger , so really a lucky escape , new one costs a staggering £20 and is stapled to the bumper apparently , I’m assuming you could resin bond a new one on or as I’ve heard use self tapping screws Almost certain I will have another 4C at some point though! For anyone who's interested, just had my first service done on the 4c.
Griffin Mill Nantgarw in South wales took care of it for me. Dropped the car off at 5pm on Monday, picked up first thing this morning. All for a very reasonable (from other prices I've seen) £795. Excellent service, would highly recommend.
Not sure if it's placebo effect but the car generally feels much tighter, and weirdly the steering feels quite a bit lighter too?

I’m still amazed that anybody lets anyone other than Jamie touch their 4C!
Alfa gave me 3 years free servicing as part of my deal so I need to use a main dealer , sadly HWM and Meridian Milano have both given up Alfa so I will be struggling next year to find a decent dealer so any recommendations for a decent dealer in the south will be appreciated DeejRC said:

If I owned the car, I would absolutely agree. However, as a leaser, it makes no sense travelling from South Wales. Trying to convince LEASYS that an independent service is acceptable would probably prove more hassle than worth of it! WHEN I own my very own 4C, there'll be no question where I take it.
This might be better in the 4C pricing thread, but I figured I'd start here.
I'm 18 months into a 2 year lease on a decent spec 4C Spider - currently paying £400 / month.
I contacted Leasys for a quote to extend the lease for a 3rd year. No problem - that will be £800 / month
I also got a price to buy - which is in line with Autotrader prices - so therefore full retail and not trade in.
Needless to say, I won't be extending the lease.
My guess is that they've been caught out and the value of the car is lower than they thought, so they're trying to re-coup some of that. The alternative hypothesis is that they think the value of the car will tank between years 2 and 3.

Not just Alfa related but many companies who leased or did pcp deals are suffering due to a market awash with nearly new stock , the pre Reg cars appearing over the next few months due to the live emissions testing cock up will make it worse, for you let them suffer and buy another in the free market , plus for the 4c over the thousands of bmw x series etc floating around is they aren’t making any more , it’s not a bad place to put your money , and geez it’s one heck of a drivers car. Have you asked about an "informal" extension? You may be able to get 3 more months at the same rate.I'm 18 months into a 2 year lease on a decent spec 4C Spider - currently paying £400 / month.
