It's all a bit of a conundrum what to do with a leased 4C.

My current thinking is as follows:

A lease extension with FCA is a total non-starter - it's not even worth considering for a nano-second
Buying the car from FCA is an expensive luxury - yes, you'll get a car that you've "owned" since new, but you'll be paying over the odds for the privilege

Then you have to factor in what everyone else is going to do - if they all think the same way that I do - then quite a few cars will appear on the 2nd hand market as the leases expire. Not everyone that hands back a lease car will replace it with another 4C - this will lead to a net increase in available cars - which will decrease prices.

I wonder how easy it would be to buy back your "own" car at auction?
Same thinking as I did a few weeks ago and put the same argument to FCA or Leasys about the market becoming awash with ex lease cars so prices would be depressed. Brick wall comes to mind. They wanted £43.5k for my 12k car which I told them was not competitive with the current market. They insist that this price is what they will achieve at auction smash
So, they will be auctioning my car and I'd like to know the price it achieves as I think they're talking out of their corporate bottom's.rotate
If you put your reg into WBAC and confirm mileage then their offer is pretty much expected auction price. A reasonable guide.

They give my car a valuation of £39k so I assume a margin for them and with costs a figure of £43k doesn't seem quite as horrific.
I'm bailing out anyway and just awaiting a collection date as I've bought a replacement. Made in England with funny lifting doors and with great steering cool

They have revised their approach to pricing on a lease extension - for me at least. Would be interested to hear if anyone else has been offered similar.

Maybe not getting the price they want at auction so looking to leave the car earning until market recovers / stabilises

Nice. They are 4 hours away from me. If I can get a service with them for like 750 then it makes the trip up and hotel worth it. Cheeky weekend break. Anything near worth a visit!?

There is some lovely countryside pretty close; Buxton, Bakewell etc.

My quote was £717 including the discount

Thank you, they price matched your quote for me. Saved me a few pennies!

Now to book a hotel up in the peak district for the weekend!

Got my collection date booked so nearly the end for my 4c spider affair!

This car is amazing, I’ll be gutted when it’s gone, I’ve hada Giulia as well for just over a year, which is nice but no where near as special as the 4c.

Clocked up 20k in 2 years, not long got back from A trip to Spa, 1000 miles ish round trip was an absolute pleasure and a great way to end.

I’m pretty sure I will come back to a 4c, might scratch a couple of other itches first but not for long!

Oops not sure why it’s upside down or how to fix that !!

My 50th Anniversary car is going back at the end of June, I guess a few other cars on here are going back at similar time.
Does anyone have any experience of returning an FCA car? What are they like to deal with?

I will have done around 17k miles & it's due for a service mid July - according to the schedule I don't think it needs to be serviced before I hand it back but are FCA likely to see it this way?

Just need to sort a chip on the windscreen.

Jumped on a cheap'ish Golf R deal a few months ago, not a bad car but it's no carbon fibre Italian sports car! frown

I've got both, and I reckon the R is the faster car real world.

Agreed - my previous car was an R and it definitely had more go.
