Other issues: only a dead battery. Replaced under warranty.

The 55,000 miles in 2.5yrs. Daily driver. Like Christian and his brother, mine also lives on a farm and subject to the worst that Britain can throw at her. She also has to contend with the M4 and M5 and the idiots who live in Swindon who can’t drive in a straight line on Mondays morning and therefore close the M4 on a semi weekly basis. And the idiots who live around Taunton usually who can’t drive in a straight line and close the M5 ever other Friday.
She visits Ben and Jamie every 6 months for them to stroke her and utter loving words.

Are the lower ball joint paper mache things a warranty item at all?

I would be using recorded post as well, this has the makings of a saga...
Hmm yes tell me about it. I can feel this getting messy.

I have had an email today from a different person at Leasys asking if I was accepting the informal contract extension (that I requested in December) - I would now be into the second month of this if I had. rolleyes

After outlining the details and saying that I'm still waiting on the plate transfer, I have then received a generic email asking for the V317 form to be completed etc.
Have just copied in everyone I have dealt with but yes I think it's time to get something in writing sent over.

I have already informed them about the lack of insurance. I didn't think that would go down well however they said it was fine and will just make sure the collection agents bring trade plates if it isn't being trailered.

If I wasn't precious about the plate I think I'd be posting the keys back to them saying come and get it if you want it!

Quite jealous of how much you have driven it!! I really need one in my life! (Again)

My lower arms were done under warranty. Apparently a known fault so they said.

This ended up all being quite uneventful thankfully. After making a bit of a fuss via email, everything got sorted that very day! They transferred the plate off and I organised collection for a few days later.

Manheim inspection went fine despite worrying myself with Manheim horror stories! I see it is now advertised on the Auction pages frown

I did have a great comment from the collection agent... just after he had done his assesment, he was running through it with me and getting me to sign when he said 'One thing, I think there seems to be some sort of problem with the power steering when moving the wheel on the spot' laughlaugh

Have people used the cleaning products that come with these? Are they expected back and checked for?

Anyone want a free air filter ? Was removed from my car after 20 miles, so is like new. Whoever takes it just needs to pay postage.

They won’t be able to sell it for a while and if they do it will be a chunky loss to them , I’m sure you could get an extension as it gives them money coming in or even make a very cheeky offer . To all companies they need all the cash they can at the moment , it may even play to extend as many companies in the motor trade are potentially going to fail and the receivers would let you have it for less as they have to turn assets into cash ASAP

Agreed and that was the plan.....however it’s due it’s second service mid July (date due back 2nd July) and I’ll have to reinsure so not sure I want to fork that out and then hand it back.

Having to pay for that, use as a bargaining tool , a not serviced car is worth less as you can argue it deletes the warranty so they will have to pay it if you don’t and the value of the asset is all they care about , in the next few months they will struggle to find anyone to buy at a decent price , they as I’ve said before will need cash in the bank . Go with the I kind of like it attitude more than I love it attitude . Interesting times ahead for sure but car values are f cuked of you don’t keep yours be sure their will be others at “reosnable” prices going forward but agree it’s nice to have a car where you know it’s history. Rule number one at this point, the next 12 Months Will be a mess . And for life don’t gather debt on a car , the motor industry was struggling before this and nobody can predict where it will end and which manufacturers will survive , luxuary toys as most sports cars are will be one of the last to recover , now a pint of milk is essential so guess I need to take the Alfa lol

I'm not convinced that you will get very far trying to reason or negotiate with Leasys in terms of better extension rates / purchase price. They were just pretty black and white with the figures when I spoke to them. I guess they are more geared up with dealing with the likes of Fiat 500's where they will pretty much have a guaranteed value at auction.

No, I didn't send mine back with the car. I would have done but I had opened it for a look and a few bits had leaked out etc.

Did you get the fitted cover with yours too? That also wasn't asked for... I'm hoping I might make use of it in the future. If I see the new owner pop up anywhere online (and if getting a new 4C isn't looking likely) then I may reunite them with it though smile

Hi All

Sad to say my 4C will be going back in a couple of weeks. Had considered buying the thing but leasys aren’t budging on £36k which feels a bit much in the current climate..

Just wondering if anyone’s been charged for front bumper scrapes/repainting (on the nose underside area from parking/speed bumps), and if so roughly how much?

Thanks

Having looked at and eventually bought an ex-Leasys car I'll say no, they're all an absolute state laugh

Just say you want it but not at their price so can they please notify you when it goes to auction , might make them realise your serious but not a fool . As my previous posts all these firms need cash, not stock , if that doesn’t work try someone further up the management tree to see if they can see logic

I'd consider buying some touch-up paint to be honest depending on where the damage actually is, mine was pretty much perfect apart from some pretty bad scratches to the underside/front of the nose at the bottom. I was torn as to whether I should do it or not because it was beyond a DIY touch-up repair!

It obviously did enough as I didn't get a single comment on anything. I'd say the before pictures do make it look worse than it was because in real life it's so low down / almost underneath.

I was also a bit worried about the rubber strip being slightly pulled away if you look at the photo... It had slightly warped so I couldn't get it flush without removing the whole thing, but that's where I thought I'd rather accept a damage charge than a sub-standard repair!

Thanks - that’s exactly what mine looks like. Very minor but never leased before and heard a few handback horror stories.

The rubber strips aren’t a lot . I gather Normally stapled on when new and can be fixed with small self tapping screws if you replace them. Picture looks like a staple or 2 have ripped out so glue might be the answer or a little black silicone and a bit of tape to holt it while it sets , you just need access to a ramp ( or planks and a pile of breeze blocks if your feeling brave )

Yeah, it needed pulling off and reattaching, I'd screwed one end in but the remaining staples were pushing it out of line.

It's gone back now anyway, I was going to fix properly but after all the hassle I had with Leasys I lost interest by that point!

My opinion is all these bongo standard black 4C's are going to be worth about 30K each as they are poverty spec.

Yep, surely would have been in their interest to let people at least choose the colour, and maybe even the 5 hole wheels at a lower cost option. There is currently 5 black 'lease spec' coupe's on Manheim and one has already shown up on Autotrader. Feel like they are really going to affect prices when they all hit the used market!

I'm keeping an eye out for mine in case it's a good price, however one concern now is that the service is overdue by 4 months - this will mean that the remaining warranty will be invalid
