Thank you for clearing that up. Appreciate the response.marathonic said:
I've been quoted delivery of late this year or early next year. I wonder is there actually no expectation of 'late this year' and the vehicles will all be 2018 deliveries. Perhaps there actually are 'no more factory orders for delivery this year'.
Think you may be right. Coupled with Matthew's response i now feel a lot more comfortable.Just confirmed my spec:
Alfa Red
5 hole wheels in black
10k miles
Now waiting to hear back from Thames. Have already placed a £1000 deposit with them.
The first of our PCH Alfa Spider orders has left us here at T H WHITE in Swindon. We only just managed to get a pic of him as he left.

I just had a quick chat to Paul and number 29 is due here ANY DAY NOW. The cars turn up on an individual transporter so once it is here we will get a quick picture and send it over
Not long now!
I've got a 50th Anniversary spider on order with delivery originally given in 2-3 weeks but my dealer has no idea when it will arrive. Apparently the car has to be registered by end of June to comply with the special deal but they have absolutely no clue as to delivery date and I don't know if it has to be delivered to the customer by this date? Frustrating or what?
Trying to book up a Euro blast for a week with my 16yr old son but without dates it's impossible..grrrrr

Hello I work for Chris Variava Alfa Romeo, it has been bought to our attention some of you saying you haven't been called back, if you would like to E-mail me direct at matthew.m@variava.com and we will make sure you are contacted asap.
We are now sold out of 50th limited edition spiders, the interest in the deal has been amazing.
Let me just clear a few things up, we have heard a lot about other dealers taking deposits on deals they cannot commit to or get cars. there is no standard cars available in coupe or spider and 50th are now extremely thin on the ground. there is a lot of cars with options and we are looking to do a deal on these in the near future.

Thanks once again to you and Paul for keeping my car on hold until the finance application hiccup with the other dealer was sorted. Great service from the day I rang you up. Looking forward to tomorrows update of the location and estimated collection date. I'm just conscious that the weather will turn the day I pick the car up.
Another long term lurker. I visited Thames in Slough two weekends ago and also placed an order for early 2018 delivery. I dealt with Ajay who I believe was the dealer principal. I filled out all the relevant finance forms and gave them my 1k deposit which has been taken out of my account.
Today I receive an email from Craig confirming build in October and potential delivery in January. I've gone for black with black phone dial wheels and race exhaust.

The whole thing is clearly still up in the air a little - having spoken to both Slough and Tunbridge Wells dealers, apparently Slough are taking deposits as they're simply more confident of Thames securing the build slots than the TW dealership are.
This is why some of us have had confirmation of build and deposits taken, whilst others have not - I went with Peter at Tunbridge Wells despite getting quotes from both, so hoping I'll have some commitment from them tomorrow!

But does the good finance deal still apply to cars registered after June ? Seems like some people are expecting cars in 2018 but may not benefit from the good lease deals.
Spoke to Paul at CV today who seems a top chap.
The Alfa procedure sounds a bit daft though, as dealers are having to decipher what the spec is on each car. Would be so much easier if there was just a list of the built cars with options, so it would be easy to navigate.
Maybe that's the privilege of dealing with an Italian auto maker!

Did the good lease deals only really apply to the anniversary editions that Alfa wanted to shift ?? Spoke to Paul at CV today who seems a top chap.

Out of interest was the anniversary edition a car only built for the U.K. Market or was it available in Europe ??

Good deals were available on the coupe too - and still are if you're looking for an optioned up version. Some are skeptical as to whether they'll eventually be honoured at the agreed price.Out of interest was the anniversary edition a car only built for the U.K. Market or was it available in Europe ??

Yep, also if you purchased rather than leased I managed to beat the April 1 tax hike by a few days as well
Re the point of honouring a price to me a dealer should honour a price, if your wary try another dealer, they are all surely pulling built cars or cars in production from the same stock list , for a factory order it must be possible to agree a price, it has to be agreed when its specced, that's what I've always done & never had issues although agreed I buy rather than lease so I guess its slightly different
Anyway for those lucky enough to get one you wont regret it

To those that have driven, how bad is the tramlining? The reviews say it is pretty horrendous but I have z4 coupe with run flats and that's no roller.
Want so bad but it would be a daily for me..
Great daily. Its probably around the same if not marginally worse than the Z4. Get one out for a test drive. Brilliant cars. The 2016 onwards cars are much better for tram lining than the earlier models.Want so bad but it would be a daily for me..

My thoughts exactly but it seems v difficult to get a clear picture. Called mangoletsi today to ensure they've refunded my deposit. Was told it was processed this morning. Will keep an eye on it.
UPDATE:
Alfa will not honor ANY orders for 4C's other than the stock of 50 vehicles that were in the UK pool. This has been confirmed today which is a bit disappointing...
Some dealers are hopeful that they may be able to offer the same levels of discount for factory orders once this stock is depleted but this is highly unlikely.
there are around 20 cars left but are all high spec so sitting £500+ pm (not a bargain for a track car essentially) these cars i think may be reduced further as i cant see them shifting...
At the headline figure of £299 they were def worth a go, did anyone get anywhere near that figure? Anyone on here grab one of the 50th cars that Central had just keen to get a snapshot.

I'm completely at sea in regards to what is happening with the dealers, finance companies and Alfa.
