Thanks, no unfortunately it caught the bumper and took a small bit of paint off underneath. I was thinking of sticking a piece of plastic under there, it will get ripped off I'm sure but may just save the paint/bumper from taking the initial contact and then I can replace if and when that happens.

Theres a small piece of rubbery plastic that hangs down below the front bumper about a foot back, that usually catches before the bumper so you must have just caught that , as for protecting it best I can advise is take anything your worried about at an angle, that way one wheel gets on it early & lifts the front , you could bond a very thin sheet of stainless on but if its a lease car not sure technically you can

Yeah I did see that, I think the front V protector is £264 but seems to go inside the grille, the splitter that goes under the bumper is £912 - so I'd still be pretty upset to here that scraping on the floor!

Was just wondering as Variava (Nottingham) normally put the small plates on not the standard plate/bracket. Or did you get yours from Beechdale Alfa (Derby)?

Here is where i am in understanding this whole debacle:
1) The anniversary spiders are all gone
2) There are stock cars left in the UK at decent prices (prices are still decent for the spec on offer)
3) Factory is closed and not taking orders until end of August (this is when any factory orders will be placed)
4) Factory orders that have been taken are going in for production in/around September

Now where i am stuck is if i have placed my order and FCA have accepted my finance etc... what could go wrong now?

The only thing i can think of is if there is a change of spec of the car (series 2?)
I've had conformation today that FCA approved my finance on the 23rd, so I'm also in the same boat as yourself. Not really sure what could go wrong now, but nothing feels concrete still!

I was told that within a couple of weeks I should get an idea of an 'estimated' build date. Here's hoping!

150 odd miles in now. Managed to fit a medium shopping trips worth of stuff into the boot last night. A small bolt fell out from somewhere in the passengers side whilst driving back from the supermarket, will investigate further when I have the time.

Kerbed the sodding NSF wheel whilst trying to move out of the way for some fire engines yesterday, balls.

Do keep us posted on when the "estimated" build date is please. Looks like we're in similar positions.

Anyone with a 4C already found a nice phone cradle/holder? Even though i hate the idea of them i probably will need one for GPS etc.

Great colour choice. I was due to have my non anniversary spider delivered to T H White on Monday from Italy but it hasn't arrived yet. I was also due to pick it up on Saturday, but it has been changed to collect on Wednesday.

I emailed Alfa to ask for a Paint code for the wheel as I know it is only a matter of time before I need it. They haven't got back to me, I guess they just buy the wheels in pre-painted so may not be able to get that info easily.

I can loose sleep over Kerb rash - bugs the life out of me, I've taken to painting wheels myself so I can fix it as soon as it happens. It's pretty easy actually although I've only ever had to do silver wheels so far.

Somehow I've managed to kerb the wheels on my last 3 cars, prior to that I'd always been fine.

It looks like a fairly standard anthracite/shadow chrome type of colour. I'll ask the bodyshop next door to work if they can match it up.

Your pocket is the best option. A small iPhone will fit under the handbrake. I just use my iPhone for directions through the stereo and listen.

There's also the small pocket on the passengers side under the dash where you would expect to see a glove box, has the leads for memory sticks etc in it , a small phone might go in there

Collected mine Tuesday evening this week and now up to 1280 miles so far in 3 days, posting this from Black Forest in Germany and going onto Milan and back home. This car is epic on these mountain roads, will be up to about 2k miles by our return on Monday. Car hasn't missed a beat, running in complete and it's just a fantastic car on these roads.

Fantastic!!! The car must be in its element there!! Glad you're happy with it.

Mine was meant to arrive at the dealer this morning but didn't show. frown

Was planning to collect on Monday but looks unlikely - shame as I'd taken the day off work to go pick it up.

Great to see that everyone seems v happy with them on here!!
