A week after contacting Alfa Romeo customer services, I've just had a one line email saying they are still looking into it. The mythical "deal" is still live on the web site concerned which is highly dissapointing; I wouldn't have thought to much investigation was needed by AR themselves to work out the issues behind this.

Be interesting to see how this pans out

I went ton said dealer last week on the basis of that deal and have left a deposit with them to secure a 2018 build slot. Was advised that deal advertised may not be possible at point of confirming spec and order but will "be close"

Obviously deposit is fully refundable and lucky enough not ton need the car but thought I'd give it a punt. Love the car and prepared to pay more than the headline offer but obviously there is an uplift which I'm not prepared to go beyond

Is that with Thames?

And they wonder why certain AR dealers haven't a stellar reputation. They made no effort when I went in to do anything other than put in me in a heavily optioned car at a much higher price because they said with the factory being closed that was it. No mention of deposits to secure build slots. I too don't have a deadline I need to work to, so I'm more than happy to wait for a car. The overriding issue for me is what I'm prepared to pay for a toy. I've rang them again this afternoon on basis of someone seemingly going in after I did and still being able to secure the deal (or thereabaouts.) I got a confused response regarding whether they were even accepting deposits. I'm awaiting a call back from the sales manager. In the meantime has anyone else managed to get something done on a none stock car in the last fortnight or so?

It's all a bit strange - the £349 Thames price started at £249, then quickly went up to £349 and now £399 although some parts of the website still show £349. Considering none of the cars have been ordered yet then how can there be so many prices offered!? Meanwhile Alfas own website used to be advertising £469, that's been removed and just says PCH is available but price depends on spec - so that also suggests there are only already built cars available!

My local dealer seems to be advertising a nice selection of PCP deals for £299 upwards with options. £42k for a new 4c with options seems cheaper than you can by a 2/3 year old one!

6k deposit is a big chunk on a PCP but they do look quite tempting.

Yes but the final payment is very tempting- you might make your deposit back if you can sell it on, although still a lot of cash to raise.

Whilst I love my Spider 50th on lease, I'm treating it like it's my own driving it only in dry etc. and it's hard to get your money's worth that way. In heindsight I would prefer this PCP deal.

They may be able to change the upfront too I think every 1k deposit is normally about £25 a month. 2k down and 400 a month sounds far better if they could offer similar.

You would be looking at £475 with a 2k deposit if they let you do that - total cost over the term will be £13k ish whatever way you structured it.

May not be possible to do a low deposit if you are borrowing £42k though.

£17k off list price is outstanding! Just shows how over priced the second hand ones are.

They're some crazy deals. I wouldn't like to have been a recent buyer of a used vehicle at current prices.

4c buying seems to be a bit of a lottery!

Might be the same cars offered by : https://www.gateway2lease.com/cars/alfa-romeo/4c/4...

Initial (inc VAT) £2,831.76
Monthly (Inc VAT) £314.64
Total Cost £10,248.48
Amortised Monthly £427.02
Annual Mileage 5000
Price Per Mile £1.02
Contract Length 24
Fees £180.00

No info of excess miles charge. And that's base price and all cars have some options, so actual price will be higher.

All theses carts filtering through makes me hopeful for the Thames offer.

As you say, the quote is for a base spec but the cars in stock may have more options which dramatically increases the price.

"...10 stock vehicle with huge discount. Vehicles have various options so a formal quotation is required!..."

This sounds a little like the bait and switch I had from a certain dealer who insisted on taking deposits before they would confirm specs.

Good luck to anyone who can bag the good deals. Great cars - took mine out this morning and was grinning from ear to ear!!

Just reading this thread for the first time after posting a new thread about 8 cars listed on drivethedeal, I think I may have found the supplying dealer then. Could the resale be strong enough to run one for a few years and not lose money??

Unlikely, I think the problem will be there won't be that many people wanting to buy from a private seller, and you will need to have cleared the final payment before you can sell privately. If you trade it in then you won't get anything like the figures you see them advertised at, and most of the cars advertised never seem to sell.

Surely they'll be worth more than the GFV though even trade in price??
