I think people need to stop comparing it with mass production cars and just start to appreciate that it's a 4C and compare other cars to it . Alfa have built a great car fir those who just love driving , I'm close to the end of 3000 miles in a week in Europe . I want to turn around and not come home . If you really love driving I can't see anything to come close , yep I could borrow and get a Lamborghini or Ferrari but why , 3000 miles , average speed 63, mpg 33, smiles, to many to count . I'm glad Alfa had the balls to build a no compromise drivers car !

How are you guys finding the gearbox? I must say it would be far more appealing with a manual box. My current car (F80 M3) is DCT and it just leaves me a little "meh!". Yes, the changes are quick etc but it takes something away from the drive I think?

Its all personal, it's what you like, I find it fine, I actually love it, it's an auto but you can add in a change if you want or you can go totally flappy paddle , for me it's way way better than the flappy paddle auto on our merc . It's just personal . If the market wanted manual cars manufacturers would build them but so few buy them they have little incentive to build them .

I do get that it's the way everything is going, and if it was to be my only car (as the M3 is) then it would be the way to go. I see the 4C as more of a weekend car that's all.

I've been driving my mate's 981 Spyder recently which is manual and I think it just makes the car. That said, it's been something like 3 years prior to that since I drove a manual so it certainly the way everything is going, really not sure if it's a good thing or not?!!

I’d rather see it as a manual. I find the take up a bit snatchy, takes me back years to the old 360 days.

It's now over 16 weeks since the Thames order date, we've just entered a new quarter and there's evidence of more and more orders for the stock cars going through. We're bound to be close to receiving a build date at this stage.

Thanks everyone,

I got it for 3k down, £340 a month, 8k per year. That's what I was quoted with Thames for Alfa Red, 5 hole alloys, and painted calipers. This deal adds leather interior, leather dash insert, protection film and sports exhaust for the same price!

I'm still not 100% convinced on the colour, but the spec and price just made it a no brainer!

Thanks for everyone's input on here, can't wait to get my hands on her now!
Congrats! Just clicked the link, it says they've all gone so I'm guessing I won't have to ask if I can pull out with my 1k deposit intact from the Dealer!

I'm paying more cash for less miles, and I doubt that I'll be buying it after 2 years. I think the only difference in spec from mine to yours is a bit of carbon on the vents and that side vent thing. Hardly worth another 2.5k with 6k miles less over 24 months.
I feel a bit like I've had my pants pulled down here 🙈

On a different note: has anyone found any discrepancies with the panel alignment? And any dodgy paint finish on the bumpers?

Wow - I bought my 4C over a year ago and thought I got a bargain at £48k.
Most expensive car I've ever bought, but see it as an investment in the longer term.
It is very nicely spec'd, but some of the cars Beechdale sold were at giveaway prices!!

I love my 4C and will not be selling it for many year, so congrats to those to managed to get those cars.

I'm secretly hoping that production will stop soon and that values will begin to creep up.
I thought they were stabilising until I saw this thread and realised that dealers were selling highly spec'd cars for £43k!

Enjoy the cars - I'm yet to see another in everyday driving and still makes me smile every time I take the cover off.

Cheers mate. As far I could see they were only offering the yellow one on PCH? Otherwise I probably would have gone for the white one which is the one you secured I'm assuming? It worked out £24 a month more to go from 5k to 8k per annum, they wouldn't give me a price on 10k though for some reason?

I'm collecting it on Saturday, the 4 hour train journey is not ideal but I'm quite looking forward to the 3 hour drive home!

On collection, is there anything I should be looking out for? Is there an area that's prone to damage in transit for example? Whenever I've gone to collect a car I get so excited I forget to check things!!!

I love the box! I think it suits the hard edged up shift crack! nature of the box completely. Yes it can be a little snatchy at lower speeds or you manual shift when the auto isn't expecting it.

I love the speed of the change though, I love that it basically demands you grab the thing by the scruff of the neck. A manual just wouldn't suit the whole thing at all.

The 4C isn't some tactile man machine interface driving pleasure blip the throttle for the hell of it Revival thing. Go buy a Lotus or Cayman Spyder for that.

It's a hell on heels hardcore diamond edged Diva bh.

Is this for one of the £250 monthly 9+23 deals?

I've paid 4100 dep 397pm 5k miles on PCP. It's a red one. Collecting Friday from Mango, different dealership.
If the other car is available from your dealer I was going to give them a call today, but following the link it says that they've all gone!?

I'll be travelling 2 hours on the train so I won't be best pleased if all the niggles aren't sorted when I arrive. Best get a return just in case!

I'm excited, but I feel like I've paid over the odds. I suppose it's still a bargain for what it is though. It's just never nice paying more for something than someone else.

Ah sorry, I didn't realise it was a different dealership.

What niggles were there? Anything I should look out? Never bought a car without actually seeing or driving it before!

Still a bargain whatever way you look at it! Depending on what happens over the next two years it may be worthwhile buying the car as an investment? What was the GFV on it?

34k I think. Hopefully it'll be worth a bit more than that when the time comes.

Mine had Mic or sensor by the rear view mirror hanging off. Boot lid not lining up correctly at all. I tried to adjust it myself(I used to do it to Vauxhall Astras for a living), but it was sitting high on the near side. Paint between the bumper and the hood panel didn't look finished, and there was definitely overspray and bleed onto the plastic part of the rear bumper on mine. I'd just check everything operates correctly, fits correctly, and there's no marks or defects anywhere.

Don't worry Dav, I paid a bit more than you but I asked for 10k miles.

I've always been told it's roughly £25/month for every 1000 miles on the quote.

I'm running mine as the company car so I don't really care in that respect!

If its just to snatchy when driving gently try all weather mode as everything is a lot softer , sadly no turbo in first & second so no quick get aways is the trade off but makes for a nice lazy drive.

Ok thanks. It’s only when parking or manoeuvring.
