Hi,

I have own a 2015 4C with the sports exhaust which I think sounds great. I particularly like it when the exhaust is cold and it crackles and pops when you come off the accelerator.

I have no idea about the physics behind this, but I wondered if any of the 3rd party exhausts available give the crackles even once the engine/exhaust are up to temperature?

Thanks

Ben

You'll probably find that the pops & crackles when cold are a consequence of the fuelling and nothing to do with the exhaust - once the engine is fully warm, it will fuel far more efficiently, so the post-turbo combustion won't be happening

Alfaworks exhaust I think sounds awesome, it will crackle and pop when cold but sounds so good when warmed up yet no drone at motorway speed, had mine swapped onto the new 4c last week .

Was that the sports exhaust 'basic' or with the Helmholtz bit?

For the money there is nothing to touch the Alfaworks exhaust (think it's a Quicksilver one). Still has lovely note but removes the damn cruising speed drone. And looks much nicer with carbon tips.

My old car is for sale at Thames in Tunbridge Wells if you wanted to test drive it to see what it sounds like - though you'd have to pretend to be a customer!

Thanks; not much heavier (1.5kilos) either, particularly good considering the addition of 'resonator'.
