Ok so went to move the girlfriends abarth 500 this morning and as I depressed the clutch the below fell off. Suspect it's a clutch return spring. I took it for a spin and all controls seem fine. Popped to the dealer and they want £390 for a complete pedal box. I know that it's fitted for a reason but is there a cheaper option? Could it be welded back on, I can see where its snapped on the photo. Any advice appreciated.

I'm sure that one could be sourced from a breaker relatively easily and fitted by a tame indy/driveway mechanic?

Had something similar break off the clutch pedal on one of our Fiat vans. The only effect it seems to have had is that the clutch pedal sits a lot higher when the pedal is released (previously it was at the same height as the brake pedal, now it's a good bit higher). Clutch itself works fine.

Have you checked the pedal position on your car?

Thanks guys.

Pedal functions fine, just sits about 3mm higher when disengaged?

Thanks, and there was me thinking I'd looked on every forum after an hour or so's googling.

Local friendly indy thinks he can weld it back on. We shall see.

Just a bit of an update to close this off and offer some help for anyone who Google's or searches PH for this in the future...

My local indy welded it all back together for the cost of 1 hours labour. £65. Very very happy!

Hello gents - just wondering precisely where this bracket came from. I have exactly the same issue as of yesterday! Can't see where it goes. Any help much appreciated.

You might have already sorted this by now but it's from your clutch pedal. Known issue on the Abarth 500 and Fiat won't acknowledge it at all. Happened to mine just outside of warranty (7 years ago now). I argued the toss with the supplying dealer and got a % reduction on the part and fitting.
