Just for a bit of balance, my car now has 6,500 miles on it and has been brilliant, even after an evening at Brands Hatch! The dealer was great before the sale, during the sale and also post sale. My only issue has been the alarm which was dealt with immediately by the dealer. AROC have invited me and my partner to Goodwood FoS and Milbrook and the whole ownership experience has been excellent.

The quad that needed a new gearbox was out of action for 3 months. Quite a lot of that time period was spent waiting for Alfa to decide whether the funding for that job was coming from ZF or Alfa. The dealer can't just go ahead and expect payment like you'd get with BMW / Merc / Audi.

I saw the posts re the gearbox but the delays were in diagnosing the problem weren't they? Not seen mention of ZF and Alfa arguing over paying for it (not saying they didn't but I've not seen it and I'm on the AROC FB page and Alfa Owner forum as well as here).

I have to say that having picked up my new QF from a local dealer only last monday from whom I experienced behaviour that shocked me to the core the last couple of posts have cast another shadow over what I am still hoping, maybe foolishly, will be the long and contented enjoyment of the most expensive and magnificent car I have ever owned .

It is shocking to consider that Alfa Romeo, FCA UK or whoever they may be addressed as should take the view that the owner waits for them to sort out who pays for a dicky gearbox, themselves or their supplier, rather than effect an immediate repair or replacement appropriate to their warranties.

I am pleased with the heads up and only hope that some pretty tough, heavy handed action from the get go from any of us who may be in such a position in the future will prevent any further such shocking experiences.

Don.
Like any car, find a decent dealer and stick with them and you'll be fine. There are some out there honest! I went through 5 BMW dealers before I found a good one when I had a 5 series.

Also, issues seem few and far between with the Giulia anyway to be honest.

I priced one with Arnold Clark in Paisley back in January this year and with my spec it was coming to £68k.

I was going to put in a £10k deposit and doing 6k miles a year in it. The guaranteed future value they were offering was £24k and they wanted a monthly payment of between £7-800 a month.

I decided I'd wait for a bit and see what the residuals were looking like before I took the plunge. I also didn't get on with Arnold Clark as they wanted me to buy the car from them before they'd even let me test drive it!!

David.
Thanks David.

Anyone else manage better than this? PCH or PCP.

I'd also like to know if anyone managed to better it as it's a car I really fancy owning smile

Best I can find is https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/independent... but I assume this is with no options.

How does this compare to what others achieved? Any specifics would be greatly appreciated.

Any updates to this?

Are Alfa still offering 0.9%?

I've been offered 6% off by an Alfa dealer...but miles better value just buying a 1 year old car than that (my spec is 67k).

I was recently told they could do a better deal on a new one than a demo etc .
You can get the discount as you have and then the low finance offer, while on a demo or second hand I think the Alfa rate is then 10.9 apr which works out dearer overall.

Your right, the finance on the preowned is crazy. My 67 plate QF... £6k upfront, 10k pa £800 a month over 3 years. It was dealer stock brand new I only waited 1 week, I am sure there are better deals to be had but I didnt want to wait 6 months for factory build. Mine's standard spec MC Blue with the 19" teledials. No point having the other options such as heated seats and wheel, just not needed IMO, and neither is the Harmon Kardon upgrade.

The new finance deals seem to have creeped up a lot as well.

I love mine a lot, nothing else compares on the road for the price. And rare as hell.
