The dealer delivered my QF yesterday. On a run today I noticed a scrubbing noise coming from the front wheels, especially when on full lock and reversing. The dealers says that this is the tyres tread pattern scrubbing on the road surface. Sounds plausible.

Any one got any comments ?

Everyone knows the fronts scrub at low speeds. It's a tyre choice / temperature / suspension issue.
It's no problem at all.

Its common on new tyres especially on lock; it's the Ackerman effect, the steering geometry causes the inside front wheel to turn tighter than the outside front wheel.
Especially on low profile tyres where theres no flexibility.

I have been asked this question before re my 156 GTA Sportwagon. The trouble is that I don't know how to do that. I will try and learn, though, since I want to submit pics of the GTA in order to be able to sell it.

I am amazed that this scrubbing noise is "normal". It sounds horrible. Mind you, I don't think people outside the car can hear it. I'll have to do some tests to see if they can.

By the way, Competizione Red is a weird colour. Depending on the light it looks either red, maroon, or even a purplish brown. I look forward to seeing it on a bright sunny day.

My veloce does this. Especialy bad on loose gravel or slippery car parks.

Knows how to post on multiple forums (can't spell mind you), but can't work out how to take a picture??

We've seen these threads go only 2 ways on PH. Both require the use of legitimate images and maybe even a trip to the supermarket.

Is it likely to end like the infamous PH custard thread where the OP did actually own a whole fleet of biblical cars? That poor bloke got a proper roasting, only to well and truly drop a bomb on the haters with some casual, but oh so revealing shots of his truly remarkable collection.

Was the bloke who subsequently got banged up ?

I'm unfamiliar with the story. I'll sit back and see what happens here wink

Pop on over to AO and look up "Stelvio"

A clue, not the car model.

That can't have been either me or my husband, since neither of us know how to submit pictures to forums. Mind you, since we've now got our teenage daughter on the case, pictures of some of our fleet will follow. The Audi Quattro Avant V8 is not there ( my husband's gone shooting and is using that car ), nor is the Lagonda, since that at the restorers workshop ).
Watch this space !

Here are a few pics of the DB9 Volante, the 156GTA and the QF. The white Guilietta belongs to my daughter.
