Update from me:
Car had its first service in November , I mentioned the acceleration problem but they couldn’t reproduce it.

Went back in January and insisted a technician sit with me on a test drive to see it. His answer was « they all do that ». He wanted to check the turbo but the bonnet cable snapped when he pulled the lever!
They didn’t have another Comp available to prove his theory, so I contacted Abarth customer services and told them my problem.

Went back again in feb to have the bonnet cable fixed (under warranty), they took a reading from the ÉCU and sent it to Abarth, who called me 2 days later to say everything was normal - but I still had the problem!

This week I had an appointment with the Abarth Flying Doctor, who turned up in another Comp so we were able to compare. Conclusion; they don’t all do that. He took more readings from the car and said he would compare software versions and then get back in touch. So I’m waiting for that now!

Otherwise all good, although Belgium has just gone into lockdown, so I guess things might take a bit longer to be solved.

One other thing: I got winter tyres fitted and suddenly the wheels became curb magnets ??Seems like the rims stick out further than the tyres and I’ve scratched 2 of them already. Really annoyed with myself
Good they are looking into it. Whats the issue? apologies if I missed where you mentioned what it was before!

Just to chip in, I am waiting on delivery of my 595 Comp in red, has the Brembo pack and that's it, rather looking forward to the anti-waft aspects of it. Been a while since I have been in anything other than a barge.
Welcome to the Red Comp club. Worth noting the Brembos come as standard so not really a pack as it were.

Enjoy, they are great fun!

Or if you want to go up a notch:

Very nice, wanted a Biposto but couldn't justify it sadly

The Brembo pack seems to be £325 on the configure-ma-Bob thing or have I been swindled? I wanted the black calipers......
Ah ok, well then the Brembo pack contains:

Abarth side stripe, bumper inserts & door mirrors: Black
Brembo Brake Calipers: Black

If you weren't fussed about the stripes then you can just have black calipers for £175

Mine had the performance pack so I wasn't aware they did a pack for the calipers as I was happy with red behind the black supersports. I also can't believe the charge for the stripes, sure mine were included but they do like to dick around with the specs regularly. I had to pay for the 7" Nav with carplay which is now standard, others had Xenons as standard, another option I had to pay for when I ordered mine which it looks like you still do.

You would be wise to try and get used to the Sabelts because come sale time the non standard Sabelt cars struggle to sell.
But that would be choosing spec for next owner. Don't want to suffer for couple of years, so I can sell for couple of hundreds more. I do tend to do long trips in my cars, going to the Alps, etc. I don't do around the corner driving.
Plenty of us manage long journeys in the Sabelts however I understand they arent for everyone, I think you can spec a comp without Salbelts or with GT Sabelts which I believe are the wider fit Sabelts.

Considering putting mine up for sale, as much as I love it I’m just not using it. Red Comp, Xenons, 7” Nav with CarPlay/Android Auto, Performance Pack. 12k miles. Was thinking of putting it up 16k. What do we think?
This will get taken down as all posts asking for advice in this subject do but what year?

Mines a MY18 Comp full fat auto just without carbon seat option and I was offered 12k by a MINI dealer at the beginning of the year. I declined.
Good point I hadn’t thought about that. Took my post down just in case. It’s a 2018 model

Well, the dealer came up trumps and on Friday 30th I collected the car!

Sadly due to family stuff I’ve hardly had time to go out in it, basically have managed to get as far as the Motorist cafe in Sherburn In Elmet on Sunday but that’s about it.

Absolutely love the thing though, and am looking forward to getting some miles in once the upcoming lockdown is lifted.

Gratuitous picture for anyone whose interested...

Looks great I was going to trade mine in for one when they were released, emailed the dealer to start and they just couldn't be bothered to even quote me so I kept my comp and they lost a sale.

Actually the guy who serviced mine was surprised that I wasn't suffering from the usual rear pad wear but the inside of my front pads have, I have triggered the hazard warning lots though but it's not like it is hard to do, and you can set it off really easily without the ABS cutting in as well, always found it really irritating! Mine is also a 2018 Comp but with the Performance Pack and 12,000 miles. Only just had it's second service and considering I have only driven 3500 miles since Nov last year it barely seemed worth it!

Not sure I’ve triggered that warning at all!

Must. Try. Harder.
Brake late and deep (that's what she said!) modulate the pedal the hazards will trigger but the ABS won't. I'll be honest with you though Milton Keynes is a pain for things like this when getting a move on!

So further on from the brake discussion - my famous last words will echo.

My front discs are lipped worse than I thought. Where is the best place to get discs from these days?

Am I right in thinking that my 2017 has floating discs?

They’re not bloody cheap are they!!?
I don't think any Comp has floating discs as standard or an option? pretty sure only the Biposto did, should be easy enough to see though I will go and check mine.

Well, a sad day, the Abarth has just been dropped off at WBAC, I had done just 300 miles since covid hit and it was costing me money sat on the drive not moving and in an unusual situation where I was offered more than I owed on it to move it on, so off it went.

A bit gutted, was a great car I will really miss it. If anyone later on ends up with a Red Abarth 595 with the performance pack and the reg ends SLU please drop me a PM would be happy to share prior history and also know if it has gone to a good home!

What did they offer geeks? (If u don’t mind) - my valuation has risen a lot over the past couple of months.

What you moving on to?
£14890, went slightly less as it had a scratch in the passenger door that was done at Cadwell Park when I was helping out the PH lot, no note or anything which left a bitter taste (not at PH but the person who did it) but it cleared the finance and left me a little cash left over so not the end of the world.

Replacement will most likely be an E46 330 Touring I have my eye on that I am hopefully going to see tomorrow.
