I found Motorvouge Northampton very helpful when we were looking around, their colleagues at Bedford however less so..
We went for a brand new Turismo 595c in Podium blue with natural leather, we picked it up last week, absoloutley love it!
my wife couldn't live with the Sabelt seats and harder ride of the comp as a daily driver so found the Turismo a very good compromise..

Lol, I can't believe how much I've enjoyed using it over the last few days considering I've got a 4c sat in the garage..
We're off to Sunday service at Abarth this weekend

They are brilliant things, I love mine and can't think of anything else I'd rather be driving.

I'm off to the sunday service too, I'm looking forward to it.

Hi lads,

I’ve got the option to upgrade my wife’s 17 plate Trofeo to a brand new Comp. Awaiting definite figures but I’m after a bit of advice first.

My wife isn’t bothered about spec at all. Only thing she’d like is a reversing camera as we couldn’t spec that on the Trofeo.

However, are there any options that are a deal breaker later if I don’t spec them? I know from Porsche’s (and most other brands) that certain cars just do not sell if the first buyer didn’t spec certain key options.
Also where do I find a list of options?
The Abarth site seems pretty rubbish tbh. I can click on the model then it just lists the standard stuff.

Dealer has asked if I have a colour or spec in mind as they have another £400 off stock Comps. Been quoted sub £20k anyway.
I’ve just said we don’t want that new chavvy yellow/green colour. wink

What’s the craic with LSDs on these? I’d heard a bit about the TTC button before we got ours but my wife reckons its just traction control??
It’s her car so I’ve never looked into it.
How much is the proper LSD and is it worth it?

If the figures don’t work out for the new one we’ll just run the Trofeo for another year. We paid £235 deposit and £235 per month on the Trofeo. I’m not paying more than an extra £50 per month for the Comp, so if it’s more than £285 we’ll leave it.

Cheers. thumbup

I have my comp up for sale if anyone is interested, looked after 1 owner, no outstanding finance: https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Open to sensible offers smile

Only selling as I have decided to go back to an Elise for the summer.

You can’t get a 595 with reversing camera?

Spec wise 7” with CarPlay dimming mirror and upgraded lights is minimum I’d go.

LSD is part of the super sports pack which is £2,700

TTC is using the brakes as a diff but does reduce the traction control but doesn’t fully turn it off. I like the mechanical LSD and I would spec it again.

Ok thanks Robin.

The Turismos definitely have something, whether it’s just sensors I don’t know?

I won’t be spec’ing the sports pack then. £2700! Wow.
Maybe if it was our best car that I used too, but the wife ain’t know any different.
Dimming mirror sounds wise, as I have noticed not having it in the Trofeo.
Standard lights seem pretty good to me but I suppose it depends what yiur bench mark is.
20 year old Volvos and 911s are my poison and anything is better than those. hehe

I’ll see what the dealer comes back with.
Anyone care to share target prices.
Like I say we put one month down then £235 per month in the current car.

Some car wow figures are £300+. That opens the door to a lot of other cars so I’ve set a mental limit of £280.

Cheers smile

Edited to add -

Is the Carplay any better now as the one in our Trofeo isn’t even proper CarPlay. It simply plays iTunes and things. My mates work van is better. hehe
His does phone mirroring so everything on his phone appears on his dash.

I think we have the larger screen in the Trofeo.
The phone connectivity is pants mind. Swapping between mine and my wife’s is a massive job sometimes.

They are flawed in lots of ways though simply as a car, but they have attitude and loads of character, so we over look it.
Don’t mention interior plastics etc.

You definitely can't spec a reverse camera: sadly heated seats can't be spec'd either.
The Turismo now comes with the 7 inch screen with Nav and Appleplay as standard as well as rear park sensors, rain sensing wipers and auto headlights.
We got a great deal on a stock car so had to accept what was available. The only two options I would have added would be beats and xenon lights.

The performance pack is actually £3k, unless you buy a convertible, as you have to specify aerial delete as well! Depends on your idea of value but the seat trim is way better than normal sabelts and the carbon seat backs are wonderful to look at plus the benefit of the LSD too. Oh and also (unless they've changed this) decent Michelin tyres in place of slightly iffy Pirellis and the lighter supersport wheels. However better value to find a used one with it as it is often not commanding a premium on a used one.

Cool. Thanks lads.
I haven’t heard back today but I think my prices might expire in 31st due to these increases.

I’ll see when I hear back.

The performance pack doesn’t maters to us then, as it’s my wife’s car so she’d rather have a new car without it than a used one with it and I’m bit bothered as I’ve more focussed cars when I just want to go and drive.

Enjoyed reading the thread. The 595 is my current 'want' car and feel I'll definitely have one at some stage. We seem a bit more limited with options and specs here in Aus but I haven't fully investigated it yet.

I feel I'd be disappointed getting anything other than the comp but worried the ride would be too firm. My current car (R36 Passat) is quite firm and I wouldn't want worse with my crap drive. Also my wife hates noisy cars and we live in a very quiet area. How bad is the exhaust on normal mode?

Final thoughts no one seems to go the two tone paint. I'm quite taken by it. Especially the Grey/Grey combo. Too flashy you think?

laugh The exhaust is... noisy but not obscene. The ride is.... very very firm. Definitely test drive one first!

I had heated seats retrofitted in mine, they are brilliant.

The turismo is nicely kitted out as standard, the five inch screen was a bit of a let down.

I’d disagree with the firm ride. Yes compared to something like a 3 series it’s firm but compared to civics and the like the suspension could almost be considered super soft.

It's still going to be on the sadistic side of firm if we're comparing it to a Passat...

Ahaha will definitely find one to test drive. People are quiet surprised how firm my Passat is but that's probably because they are expecting it to be a comfortable family wagon.

I guess these things are relative to what you know. I'd agree that it's not the firmest you can find, but it's on the firmer side of most mass production performance cars in my experience, and definitely a step up in firmness from the Tourismo.

Question - why does the perfect car always turn up for sale, close to home a week before you have the cash to buy it.

It won’t hang around. weeping

Reading these threads, seems to be some good deals around. My Turismo is coming up to 2 years, maybe update is on the cards.. Would really fancy a different colour and potentially the bigger screen for car-play.. Maybe a comp version..

What sort of finance deals are being had on the comp? I remember my Turismo was £250 deposit and £250 a month..

Thanks G
