I like it after all it is just a sporty Fiat 500.
This. In spades. Don’t get too hung up on “it’s not a FIAT”. Embrace the history.

I have the carbon dash. Not because of the 500 badging. I just liked / wanted it so specced it smile

Got busy with a pen today.

If I like it, I’ll do it permanently. I’ll pressure wash it off otherwise.

Personally I just can't decide so haven't done it, is it one step beyond .........I think I might try it in red when I've time, or maybe not laugh

Some do them with the Italian flag colours which I quite like and will probably do on mine when I can be bothered.

I think the tri-colour ones look good on a white or red car.
My accents are yellow so stuck with that.

That's what I have, but with 595 embroidered on.

I’d like to try that on mine. How did you do it?

I used a Liquitex 2-4mm acrylic paint marker (Amazon) - they do loads of colours.

It’s had 3 coats now so looks a lot brighter.

I like it.
I almost done my wife’s Trofeo grill in yellow.

Well I collected my wife’s Comp on Good Friday.
Travelled down to Research Garage in Leicester.
Great deal as it was literally the last deal in March.
So it’s goodbye Trofeo -

Hello Competizione -

As I’ve said a different colour to the last one would have been nice but the black one we ordered turned out to be sold.
Worked out well despite the colour though.

Free upgrades are Record grey paint, Beats hifi (sounds great), nav, Scorpion antenna plug (don’t understand what it is), dimming mirror, sidestripes, xenon headlights and probably some other stuff. List price with mods was £24k. We paid £18,078.

Negatives -
It feels absolutely no quicker than the 160bhp Trofeo I drove down in.
I’m hoping it will loosen up with use although to be honest I haven’t exactly put my foot down many times as we need to run it in.

Exhaust sounds good at idle especially in sport mode but not as good as the Trofeos old slash cut monza when in the move.
I also preferred the old style tail pipes rather than the new rolled ones.

All in all though we are happy. We were quoted £340 for the Trofeos 2 year service or we could pay £750 deposit for a new Competizione. No brainer really.

There’s no need to run in the engine. The aerial plug is the metal cap on your roof and the aerial is removed and placed in the glass of the rear RH passenger window.

The 180bhp is definitely faster having driven both back to back.

Mornin’ robin,
Yeah I’m old skool, I just don’t like thrashing brand new engines mercilessly from 0 miles.
I gradually introduce more load and keep it varied so things break in but I don’t cane it.
I don’t know why I’m bothered as we won’t have it beyond warranty period, but I’ve just always looked after my cars beyond what’s necessary.

Yep I’ve seen what that aerial thing is but why? The small aerial was no bad thing and now the rear side window looks a mess. I don’t get it. I must be getting old. wink

As for the performance, I’m glad to hear they feel quicker. I hope ours loosens up then as the Trofeo was definitely as quick.
Although maybe I’m not that sensitive to 20bhp changes anymore.

On the whole though we love it as much as the last one although my wife liked the yellow bits on the Trofeo.
As a grown up car they have a lot of flaws. Interior plastics for one are laughably bad laugh , but for our uses such as my wife pootling to work etc, or me doing a takeaway run, they’re cool little things.

FINALLY put my order in last week! Adrenaline Green Comp with performance pack. Dealer said average is 8-12 weeks for build, but the last couple have turned up in 6... so could be here beginning of June!

Still unsure if it's a mad decision with 2 kids, and the standard 595 was slow, so hoping it's a noticeable difference with the Comp. But anyway, I can't blooming wait!

Opened boot, lifted carpet - that’s where the bloody sub is.

Also driving into the wind on Saturday on the motorway, the loudest whine I’ve ever heard from a car was coming from somewhere on the dash. Had to drop below 60 to get it to stop. Hope that’s not a common occurrence- I couldn’t live with that.

Wining behind the dash isn't normal unless it was one of your passengers.

I had my first service today, unsurprisingly there were no issues. I did mention the rattle from the exhaust but they said they all do that. I know some people have had theirs replaced because of it but it doesn't bother me that much.

Sounds great Clare! I can imagine your seat backs may get a kicking from the kids but apart from that it should be cool.
I wouldn’t bank on being blown away by the difference from a standard 595. If you mean 595 Turismo.

I hope ours doesn’t do that Pidsy. Sounds like a gap around the screen or maybe just a trim part.

Bungle do you have the new style switchable Monza? Ours rattles too. Must admit I thought it was a bit poor. I’ll see if it’s worth whinging to the dealer about once we’ve had it a while.

Yeah I have the new switchable exhaust. It's only really noticeable on the first 10 to 15 seconds of a cold start.

Anyone speak Italian?

I got my options list sent through from the supplying dealer - I can make lots of it out but some stuff I can’t. There’s an issue with image upload too.
No mention of performance pack and I don’t have the certificate for it (should there be one?)
I do have a certificate for a BMC filter though.
