Abarth 595 Competizione as a daily?
Discussion
My Comp is in for its second service today. As it’s got the performance pack fitted, having the gearbox/diff oil changed.
It’s the last of the free services.
I’ve done just shy of 7400 miles in two years. Only issues have been a firmware update for the navigation unit, the rear bumper indicator coming loose (easy DIY fix) & a recent door ding in the passenger side rear panel
It’s my daily but I also use the wife’s Hybrid C-HR quite a lot.
Spent 3 hours cleaning it yesterday. Looks awesome & is a great little car

My matching comp is due it’s 4th service 36k in 3 years.
Regarding forums most are dead these days so it’s Facebook Abarth owners club and modified Abarth.
Personally I abandoned all groups on Facebook because they seem to contain a small but significant number of irritants! Regarding forums most are dead these days so it’s Facebook Abarth owners club and modified Abarth.
My matching comp is up to nearly 13k having done only 490 miles in the two years before I bought it. It's had two services the next one will be at my trusted local independent. Not had much bother with it, a small nick in one inner CV boot which I fixed after degreasing using sugru (no idea how something caught it there!) And squeaky squeaky rear brakes which I fixed myself by stripping down the rear brakes and cleaning plus reassembly using dry lubricant. There was a lot of dust on one caliper much more than the other. No noise since I did it.
That is a cracking garage!
I’m thinking of wintering mine over this year - in a way to force myself to stop using it so much.
The other cars are being neglected.
Do you just use a trickle charger?
On a side note, have any of you seen the new vid by stef on Blue-smurth?
It’s currently running 330 hp- it is an absolute monster.

Just watched that Video mate..... holy f*** !!
The price on that engine build must be HUGE!
There must be 15-20k in there.
Currently asking the same question as the OP and found this thread!
I’ve been running a diesel Insignia as a daily for the last 3 years, time for a change and I’m thinking a 595 Competizione.
I have a 50 mile round trip each day, about 80% motorway. Sound and like it’s definitely doable in a 595, if a little tedious.

In no way will it be tedious. 36,000miles down and I still find my commute hilarious in the comp. I’ve been running a diesel Insignia as a daily for the last 3 years, time for a change and I’m thinking a 595 Competizione.

In all fairness, the sabelts aren’t as back breaking as I first thought. I did 5hrs to north wales in them and was only slightly hunched for a while.
Perfect car for your commute.

The first one looks the best spec, carbon dash looks way better than the normal one and the upgraded seats do as well. Given what it has fitted it is 99% certain it will have the LSD but you really need to check.
Thanks for the feedback guysPicking the car up next week
I got the one with the carbon bits and performance pack
Those Sabelt seats are harder than they look, aren't they!
So the 2020 Pista (Trofeo) has been announced - Look like the engine is getting the boost from the Garret turbo. Instead of the IHI - bringing it up to 165bhp instead of a 160 map up from 145. which the old Pista/Trofeo had
I think they are pricing the Turismo out of the market with that, as the Pista/Trofeo has always been cheaper than the Turismo.

Details here:
The Abarth 595 Pista special edition is being refreshed. As focused on performance as ever, it is dedicated to the younger fans of the Scorpion. The 595 Pista is even more powerful. With a new engine and new Garrett turbine delivering 165 hp, it is equipped with the iconic Record Monza Active exhaust and Koni rear suspension with FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) technology that enhances driving performance by offering greater road-hold, handling and stability in total safety.
The new, oversized Garrett turbocharger with geometric compression ratio reduced from 9.8:1 to 9:1 optimises temperature in the combustion chamber at equal pressure, and allows peak torque (230 Nm) to be achieved at a lower rpm (2250 to be precise), while top power is delivered at top revs. This implies benefits in terms of top speed (218 km/h) and, above all, improves pick-up. In fifth gear, the new Pista goes from 80 to 120 km/h in 7.8 seconds.
The 595 Pista is packed with all the standard equipment needed to secure the thrilling driving pleasure typical of the cars with the Scorpion brand. For instance, it has a racing steering wheel with cut bottom and centring mark at the top of the crown, which is particularly useful for sporty driving, and with the "Sport" button that adjusts peak torque output, power steering settings and throttle. The braking system is specific to Abarth and ensures top-notch safety by fitting ventilated 284 mm discs on the front and 240 mm discs on the rear. The new Pista also features a five-speed automatic transmission with shift paddles.
New livery and adrenaline-packed details
The colour palette of the new Abarth 595 Pista includes matte Grey, in addition to Record Grey, Campovolo Grey, Scorpione Black, Podio Blue, Gara White, Abarth Red, Modena Yellow and Adrenalina Green. On the outside, the brand-new Adrenaline Kit features green accents on the front and rear bumper inserts and the side mirror caps. The hubcaps finish is also green. The new upholstery makes a statement inside with diamond patterns on the standard sports seats or a genuine racing look on the Sabelt 70 seats, the latter available on demand.
Always connected, even on the track
Being targeted to young motorists, the car naturally implements the best in connectivity at the service of performance. It is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Google Android AutoTM with UconnectTM 7 "HD system as standard, navigator and DAB digital radio. The infotainment system has a high-def screen and Abarth Telemetry, an integrated application created to measure performance.

First service completed yesterday, had them check that the BMC had been fitted, I had suspected not as the alloy fuel cap was missing (something I wasn't fussed about as it doesn't lock) sure enough, no BMC!
Emailed the supplying dealer expecting to be told to do one only for the sales guy to reply in 5 minutes flat apologising and offering to have me bring the car in or he would post it out and I can fit it at home. Decided to have it sent to me, gives me an excuse to have a proper look under the bonnet
Thoroughly recommend Rockingham Abarth for servicing, knowledgeable, polite and friendly guys and girls, excellent service and a nice showroom.
