I didn’t wire anything open - I’m going to change exhausts at some point but all car related expense is now going into the next year.

I’ll attack the torx bolts later on today

How do I know if the stereo is on its latest update?
If not, how do I update it?

Thanks Robin.
Rather a late answer but I think if you use and connect the uconnect app it will update automatically via your phone connection

Can you fit kids in the back?

I have a 7 & 4 yr old they currently fit in wife’s corsa but she loves the little ABARTH 595c!

Will kids fit?

Yes they will. A bit tight but doable if you choose the correct seats.

Which uconnect app?
There are loads in the App Store.

Got to book it in for some warranty work anyway but finding a garage is a pain. My nearest Abarth dealer closed down a few months back.
I think there’s one in St Albans so will find out.

We’ve got a 19’plate 595 Turismo C, we regularly have 2 11 year olds in the back without issues.

Any updates people??

Mine is going in to Abarth St Albans this week for them to look at the exhaust and stereo as I’m still having trouble.

I have also just ordered a new gear boot in an effort to brighten the interior a bit - it won’t be to everyone’s taste but it’ll certainly lift the dash when it arrives in a month.

Have you ordered a new gear nob too? I think you have to destroy the series 4 nob to get it off.

Ones is winging its way from Australia - We are Likewise.

My knob has a bit of a wobble anyway so I assumed it would unscrew. If it has to be broken - so be it.

Mine is still going well. The exhaust rattle is getting on my nerves and seems to be getting a bit worse. I might well see if I can a local owner to compare it to, I know they suffer from it but I’m sure it’s much worse now. Waiting for the weather to improve so I can go out and check all the pads etc

Hoping some of those using a 595 Abarth as a daily might be able to shed some light on the following questions I have:

I am planning on buying a 2017 / 2018 595 Competizione and would like to know real world information from people that use them as daily:

- Service schedules - are they all 9,000 miles?
- Service costs?
- Average MPG?

I know that these things shouldn't really be considered when buying a car like this, but I do a few miles and I think it would wind me up if the figures are poor. TIA

For the S4 which is 2016+ servicing is every 9,000miles
Servicing costs depending on service is £200-300 I have the LSD and that an extra £80 for an oil change.

Averaging around 37/38 mpg. I don’t hang about on a run where I wasn’t in a rush I got around 50mpg but it was the most boring drive to Devon I’ve ever done and decided very quickly never to drive like that again.

If you’re doing lots of miles you’d be more concerned about how many visits to the petrol station you’ll have, it’s about a 9 gallon tank.

Realised I posted this in the wrong thread so putting it in here also:

So...

Picked the car up Friday afternoon. total cost of work done under warranty: £1900.

New monza exhaust
Firmware update on the stereo. Which they charge £114 for oddly.

Just seeing if we can get the Apple CarPlay sorted.

Can not fault the service here at Glynn Hopkin St Albans.

No chance of getting CarPlay enabled - which is annoying.

The car is quieter than it was and the increased back pressure at low revs does make a difference to throttle response.

My new Knob arrived today.

Just waiting for my new shift boot to arrive and I’ll swap everything over.

The wearelikewise kit certainly feels quality.

Update from me:
Car had its first service in November , I mentioned the acceleration problem but they couldn’t reproduce it.

Went back in January and insisted a technician sit with me on a test drive to see it. His answer was « they all do that ». He wanted to check the turbo but the bonnet cable snapped when he pulled the lever!
They didn’t have another Comp available to prove his theory, so I contacted Abarth customer services and told them my problem.

Went back again in feb to have the bonnet cable fixed (under warranty), they took a reading from the ÉCU and sent it to Abarth, who called me 2 days later to say everything was normal - but I still had the problem!

This week I had an appointment with the Abarth Flying Doctor, who turned up in another Comp so we were able to compare. Conclusion; they don’t all do that. He took more readings from the car and said he would compare software versions and then get back in touch. So I’m waiting for that now!

Otherwise all good, although Belgium has just gone into lockdown, so I guess things might take a bit longer to be solved.

One other thing: I got winter tyres fitted and suddenly the wheels became curb magnets 😖Seems like the rims stick out further than the tyres and I’ve scratched 2 of them already. Really annoyed with myself

Short version : at certain specific speeds, if you hold the speed for 5 seconds then hit the accelerator nothing happens. Not turbo lag, but no response at all.

I did mention it on this thread a while back as it kept randomly happening to me as I was leaving towns and entering NSLs, but it took me a few months to narrow down the conditions to be able to recreate the situation at will..

Just for future reference - the ally knob on the s4 comes off fine. Lots of twisting but it’s not ruined.

After 6 weeks (2 in uk customs) the shift boot arrived. So I can finally fit my knob.

It’s not gonna be to anyone’s taste but here we go:

Custom zombie boot from stitchboots mated to a weighted “lil Oozy” gear knob from wearelikewise.

Carbon rear spoiler coming this week too, oh and a colour change of all decals for this year courtesy of Gary at abarthbadgedecals.

Edit - not sure why the quality of the pics is so poor.

Ok - a week and no one has even said it looks st! hehe

Ok so granted, not to many people’s taste.

Carried on with colour and decal change this week.

New badge overlays from Gary @abarthbadgedecals

Going with grey accents this year - the yellow wasn’t really where I wanted to go. A proper pain that my callipers are yellow but we’ll ignore that for now.

Carbon rear spoiler extension from ms-r arrived too.

Bonded and taped.

Side profile. It’s subtle.
I’ll get a decent pic later.

Also rebadged the rear side panels too much prefer a smooth look and always felt that the side badges were an afterthought.

Spend 2 hours removing the permanent yellow I’d coloured the front grill with. Ready to go over when new colour arrives this week.

What a bd of a job. Got probably another hour to go over it again and get it yellow free.

Dark grey wheel decals on too, new sun strip also here but it needs to be properly trimmed so as soon as wrapstarz is open again, they can fit it when they wrap some other bits for me.
The chrome rings around the fog lights need to go as do the headlight washer chrome caps.

Plenty still to do.
