But that would be choosing spec for next owner. Don't want to suffer for couple of years, so I can sell for couple of hundreds more. I do tend to do long trips in my cars, going to the Alps, etc. I don't do around the corner driving.
Seen some people spec the sabelts then replace them with comfy racing seats, then put the sabelts back in for sale.

Anyone know company where you can rent Abarth 595? I did a bit of Google search but mostly found some European companies with prices in euro.

I checked big companies, model, luxury, prestige brands but none of them have Abarth. I was hoping one of the outfit near Heathrow has them, but nothing. I want to do extended test drive in my standard driving conditions, possibly in rain, etc.

Rented one before I bought one.

Got it for a weekend from Europcar in Watford.
Literally driving past and they had a couple of them on the forecourt.
Popped in to find out how expensive they were as I wanted to try one for a few days before I did any dealer test drives.

Turns out the easiest thing to do was book a Fiat 500 online (cheaper than booking in store).
Then ask to upgrade when picking up (£10 per day upgrade fee)

So ended up with one for 3 days for £80 which I thought was a bargain.

This was about 18 months ago though and their company stock changes a lot but worth a call.

Wow, what a great thread! I’ve just spent a very enjoyable couple of hours reading through, having just ordered my new Abarth on Friday..

I’ve gone for the 595C Tourismo as for me, how I drive and the type of roads I like, is hardcore enough laugh

I’ve specced it as Campovolo grey, grey roof, Red pack, and Beats. Red leather inside.

I had basically the same car in 2017 but with a fixed roof. But decided I liked soft tops so got a good deal on a 124 Spider and so it went.

But there is something about these Abarths - and for me, the 500 in general - that gets under your skin.

(Had a blue 500 Lounge, a Smooth Mint 500 Lounge, then the previous Abarth...)

The long wait begins, looking at 9 weeks as the dealer found one on the system that was “heavily configurable” at this stage which should save 3 - 4 weeks on delivery time.

Was going to option the carbon dash but the dealer said the last 2 he’d ordered with that option took 6 months not 3 to come through. So if I was prepared to wait, no problem. I am however the very embodiment of impatience so that was a no go!

In fact, had their been a Competitzione available in the system in the above colours, or even different colours (but not black interior) I’d have taken it. But there’s nothing about that my dealer could definitely get hold of.

It should look like this, which is the one I had in 2017

Very nice. You’ll love it no doubt!

You’ve got the lounge seating so your spine will remain intact. The comps all come with Sabelts and they only come in black.

The carbon dash is available from a few places as an after market thing so don’t write one off.

Get over to MS racing- Mike will empty your wallet with the many mods available for these.

Great community surrounding them too if that’s your thing.

Ask any questions, although this thread has been a bit quiet of late, there’s a very knowledgeable bunch on here.

Rare as rocking horse poo. I think they only did them for a very short time.

Nope still an option today and still on the configurator, certainly been an option the last 4 years.

After 4 years of ownership the standard comment from anyone who sat in my Sabelts was how comfortable they were. My mum who visits a chiropractor on a fairly regular basis joined me for a trip to the Nurburgring last month and due to COVID we had to stay in the car til Germany. It’s about 3hrs 30min and she commented on how supportive they are and had no back issues.

I hadn’t posted in this thread but I sold my car 2 weeks ago after 4 very happy years of ownership, the trip to the ring was to give it one last thrashing before selling. So I treated it to a new set of front PS4’s and Brembo pads all round and gave it 2 laps of the ring (I wanted more but a motorbike crashed closing the track).

In 4 years of commuting with it I still had a smile on my face from being such a loud childish car and every now and then when it popped on an up shift a sense of satisfaction that you’ve worked it hard.

Standard option for about £600 I think. That was the only thing not specc’d on mine when it was built by the previous owner.

The Yamaha edition did have the carbon dash as standard.

Mine was meant to come with the carbon dash being a S4 demonstrator but there were delays with the dash and the larger screen so they launched without and both rolled out as an option about 6 months later.

Correct it was c.£600 and the brown Salbets were a £2.5k option (I'm pretty sure).

If getting a comp the seats were a no cost option to switch from black to brown.

I have to call a few rental companies and see what they say. They must be keeping a lot of cars off-site as their airport parkings seems to be emptish.

Regarding competizione model, they seem to sell very slowly. I'm watching the market for couple of months now, and even the cheapest ones are for sale for ages. I'm looking at 70th anniversary models. I wouldn't want to be stuck with unsellable car or discount it heavily to get rid of it, if needed.

Car I test drove in July is stil hanging there with the same sticker price.

I imagine it’s more to do with the current market and most cars selling slowly.

I watch number of models to monitor prices and Abarth 595 seems to be one of the slowest to sell. Mercedes SL is probably slower but even Audi S8 disappears faster from the market. I know, totaly different types of cars. Abarth 124 is selling relatively ok. All used cars 2-5 years old.

I've had my 595c Competizione S4 for nearly 3 years.

I spend as much time inside as looking at it, so I embarked on a programme to ratchet up the bar in terms of driving pleasure and ambiance.

I had the dashboard and door cards re-trimmed in black alcanatra with steering wheel to match. The grey Sabelts and seats were never an option in the Series 4; they were taken from my previous Series 3.

Blue LED lighting illuminates the footwells front and back. Blue starlighting in the headliner completes this.

Sounds nice thumbup

Could I be cheeky and ask how much you'll be paying (assuming it's on finance)? I'm currently trying to get a lease finalised on a 595 Comp hatch after struggling like hell to get anything out of most dealers when inquiring about PCP finance figures. It's been like pulling teeth!
