Not a problem, more than happy to help anyone if I can.
Could I be cheeky and ask if you would do mine too. I'm potentially looking to swap mine in for something else soon, and as it's an ex Demo car, would be interesting to see if they spec'd anything which isn't 'standard build'

A couple of months into ownership and I have to say the exhaust noise is utterly obnoxious, my tall brother can't fit in the passenger seat, it is totally impractical for anyone in the back and it drinks 97 like a 1970s stereotyped comedian.

However...

Tip run selfie below. Protected by 2 layers of plastic and material. Those Abarth seat holes are useful! It loves 97 and I swear performs better. It is hilarious to drive, reminiscent of my old school mini. It is my company car and I have to sometimes do 5 hour commutes (just to get there!). It's a little pal that accompanies me on the journey.

I fkING LOVE THIS CAR! hehe

I don’t think any owner would disagree with your points!

If it’s a comp you might find you get a bit more from it if you run 98+ as that’s what the manual lists as being used to get the bhp results.

Just did almost 2500 miles around France & Italy in 11 days in my 595 PP Comp. Road trip with the wife & friends in their Porsche Spyder.

It was brilliantsmile Being in my 50s & arthritic with a dodgy spine, I was a tad worried ref comfort but the Sabelts were excellent.

It’s cambelt and service day today!

First impressions of Alfa workshop (Abarth workshop) it’s very tidy and bigger than I thought! Lots of nice metal in too.

First in - ready to go. Just got to sit up here for a few hours now.

You're in safe hands there, always took my 159 TBi to Jamie for work when I had it. Always something interesting being worked on, although seems to be the 4Cs' taking over lately.

Well I finally managed to pick my 2020 Podium Blue Comp up yesterday and had a great drive back from Exeter, any fears about needing a Chiropractor afterwards due to the Sabelt seats were quickly dispelled. They're actually a better driving position for me than the standard flat Fiat 500 ones, no longer worried about them.

I'm really impressed with the car, I liked Fiat 500's anyway but this has overcome all of the disadvantages of the Hybrid I had and makes for a more relaxed drive as you have "sufficient" power rather than having to really rev it out. It isn't our family car so it'll be more or less a 2 seater 99% of the time so practicality wasn't an issue with this buy.

Not really been using the Sport button much (yet smile) apart from overtakes but it makes such a difference, pretty sure my car is standard but it's Jekyll and Hyde. Wasn't expecting it to be much more than a gimmick, certainly isn't...

The ride is acceptable for me, did find the tyre pressures were set at 2.6 bar all round but once dropped to the handbook settings it's more than OK.

My only regret...not buying one brand new and sooner when you could get them in the colours I actually like. I do think Fiat are missing a trick with the imminent cessation of the ICE Abarth and 500, seems a real mistake but I'm sure they understand the car market better than I do.

Think I'll enjoy this car, it's exactly my sort of thing.

Aaaand done!

Absolutely spot on service from the team.

If I keep it, it’ll be going back there.

Hi all,
Just had a bit of a shock. Quotes for £670 and £684 for the year 2 service on my 595 comp!

It’s only done 3k miles but no low miles option to reduce the cost.

It seems a complete rip off to me at that price. Am I right?

Simon - if you see this what was the garage in south wales that you take yours to that you mentioned at the meet on Sunday?

I was only getting done by the dealer at year 2 to preserve the warranty but I’m thinking again now if I have the option of a specialist in south Wales.

Thanks

I used Garden City Garage in Crynant last time around. Came highly recommended & I was very please. TBH, with such low mileage, I’d go oil, filter, brake fluid change & a check over.

No need for plugs etc IMO.

They’ll use genuine bit from Shop4Parts.

Doesn’t sound completely offensive. It’s a time or mileage service from memory.
Thanks

Mine went to a specialist for year 2 and was half the price. Make sure they do the gearbox oil if it has a diff!

I thought that one could take their car to any VAT registered place in order to satisfy the warranty?

Correct, I think the rule was called block exemption or something

Anyone know the part number of the silver plastic ring that the gear gaiter clips into?

Mine has snapped.
